"We spent 3 days at Jim and May's place - it was the first time we had gone away since our new baby arrived. It was the perfect spot for a few days to enjoy the beauty of the Ashokan Reservoir and the fun of Woodstock (only a 20 min Dr) Jim and May were so gracious, super communicative and were the perfect hosts. The outdoor space with a porch swing was so enjoyable for our little one. It was also super dog friendly which is so so hard to find up in the Hudson valley."

Sitting on the little private patio, gazing out towards Overlook Mountain, is a particular favorite. Giant great room off the back and out to an expansive green which is NOT fenced enough to let your pet run loose, which they say in write up (our dog loved the great room to play in). "One of the cleanest rentals I have ever stayed at! So very quiet and great views. Loved listening to all the birds sing outside. Check in/out was easy and the host left a book of things to do and attractions. Lots of little pluses like soap, condiments, multiple coffee makers, and puzzles! "This is a lovely cottage that's perfectly situated between the town of Woodstock and the Overlook Mountain trail. Wonderful ambiance, great mattress, generously-appointed kitchen. Only caveat is that the ceilings are quite low in some spots — especially the kitchen entrance and the upstairs loft-style bedroom. Bumped my head a few times when I forgot to duck!"
