Charm, Friendly and Great Value

Great location with fabulously helpful staff in charming character building. Excellent value for money especially with such a plentiful breakfast. Wi-Fi was a bit slow during our stay and could need an upgrade. Would definite recommend.

Haven from the world

Amazing old building nestled in some peaceful woodland. Great breakfast, excellent produce, poached egg was perfect, lovely fresh bread. The room was extremely spacious and well decorated. Comfortable bed and good shower. Great to have free parking in Ilfracombe too. We ate breakfast each morning while watching a multitude of birds through the breakfast room window.

Wonderful stay and great breakfast!

A wonderful stay at Laston House. Our bedroom was large with sea views. The building is gorgeous and very well maintained. Staff were very helpful and friendly. There was a great choice for breakfast and it was very tasty. We will definitely stay there again, would highly recommend.

This impressive property scores highly in most areas, with good parking on site. Staff/proprietors are friendly. If you are not very sprightly 😬, the location is very good but if walking to the harbour, beware of the uphill return!

Short break in Ilfracombe

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. I had made a slight error on the booking but they were able to rectify the problem straight away. Room 2 was comfortable and very elegant with a modern ensuite. Breakfast was plentiful and tasted delicious. Plenty of parking space and lovely gardens with views. Fabulous location and within walking distance to the harbour and centre. Stayed for two nights and would definitely return.

Brilliant walking break

Lovely welcome, friendly and helpful staff. The room was warm and cosy, breakfast delicious and accommodation perfectly situated. I would recommend Laston House to others.

Overall our Laston House experience could have been better. A poor start with insufficient toiletries and questions asked when an extra bar of soap was requested!. Lack of a bath mat on the first night was a slip hazzard no glasses/beakers until the second day. On arrival the room was very cold but after an hour or so warmed up when the electric wall heater was switched on. Breakfast was good for meat eaters, poor choice for vegetarians with only Linda McCartney sausages ! Insufficient parking led to parking on the grass verge and a note on the windscreen from the landlord who advised we should double park. Thankfully we were not woken up to move the car. All in all, a nice house in need of rennovation, lovely location but definately room for improvement.
