"A nice hotel that just needs a spruce up. Basic room that had ‘old lady perfume smell’ but clean. Friendly staff. Limited bar. Small but adequate breakfast buffet. Looks more like a retirement home than a hotel."

"A beautiful property. You can see they've really maintained the elegance of the house. There were just a few small things like the ceiling was a bit cracked, the faucet cap was missing, and the toilet needed to be pumped in order to flush. But the staff were great and the food was very good so all in all, I would recommend it as a place to stay."

"Clean room, nice breakfast"

"Clean, walkable to near businesses, quiet and delicious diner"

"Our staying at the hotel was wonderful The room was lovely and clean and staff were so nice and friendly and helpful The breakfast was really good We will definitely come and stay again"

They brought starter out with main course so main was reheated in microwave after it went cold. Weird....

"Clean and comfortable room and great shower. We enjoyed our stay at this property"

"Excellent overall. One minor suggestion is to have a bin in the bathroom to be able to dispose of sanitary products."

"Great staff and great place"

The executive lounge was lovely and offered a good selection of food and drinks. A lovely room with a comfy bed and the chair by the window was sumptuous! The only negative was an over bath shower (but I appreciate some people like a bath) and the odd mirror/plug situation that seems to exist in most hotels. We had a fabulous stay and...

"The stay was nice and our suite was clean. Well maintained and unique suite."

"This is a gem in the cute little village in Alford. The staff, rooms, bar and restaurant were all great. Highly recommend this hotel."
