Checked into my room, honestly could not believe the room I was given when I walked in. Very outdated and dusty, lots of webs and spiders in corners of ceiling with a damp musty smell every time you walk in. Peeled walls in corners from dampness. Bathroom was quite nice and clean but very low pressure water in the shower. Spa facilities were quite pleasant and enjoyable, although the changing rooms could be cleaned thoroughly. The buffet breakfast was okay but not as described, very basic and not much variety at all. Definitely not worth the £16.50 I was charged for the breakfast at check out. Due to circumstances out of my control I was not able to reach the hotel for my 1st night’s stay and once explaining everything to the hotel staff they did not help at all when I asked if it was possible to have a partial refund seeing I did not stay the night and I got stuck somewhere due to a national aviation issue. Quite disappointed with the lack of helpfulness from staff at reception. Overall, a quiet, nice hotel with a lovely spa but needs a lot of retouching and cleaning in hallways, would not class it as a 4 star hotel at all.

With an ecclectic, grandeur interior and period hunting lodge exterior, the Belstead Brook hotel is truly one of a kind and thats why we love it. The very clean comfortable rooms and friendly staff makes our stays all the more enjoyable.

Breakfast is excellent! You should be aware that if you book half board, dinner is from a limited menu, not from the a la carte menu. However you can pay an extra supplement to order from the a la carte. This was not made clear when booking.

Nice welcome, nice room and everything good, the pool area is excellent as usual, steam room had maintenance, so discount voucher given for next visit, very fair. Reception staff were very poly and helpful, rooms clean and good service. We ate in the bar a couple of times and again staff excellent and qualified food was superb.. another great stay.

Breakfast was very good and freshly cooked. Plenty of choice with continental breakfast too. Room was clean but a little tired in places. The shower head needed descaling but bathroom was pretty clean. The pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna were all an added bonus to our stay and very clean as well. The staff were exemplary. Very polite, helpful and courteous. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds and is very ornately decorated and furnished. A great base for exploring Suffolk.
