The property is FAR from town (a 20 minute walk by beach), which is deceiving when you view the map. There is very little food, no stores nearby, no restaurant at motel. There are zero mosquito killing or repelling devices, despite the fact this place is infested with them (and they are aggressive as hell - biting you despite layers of repellent and attacking your face). We killed at least a dozen a day in our room, and found several crabs in our room that scared the crap out of us (thought they were giant spiders at first). The hotel has no WIFI. The cell reception is horrible, so there quite literally is no internet. If you need to work while vacationing like I do, you're screwed. There is no television or cable to keep you entertained at night. The room (under bed and nightstands) was very dirty - lots of dust on the walls. A fresh coat of paint would go a long way. This hotel also has strange rules like you can't use your towel on the beach or they'll charge you. If you have your period and accidentally stain something, they charge you. Basically they want to nickle and dime you for everything, despite the fact the towels are 10 years old and disintegrating and they haven't done any maintenance to their facility in years to warrant such policies. We booked 3 nights and only stayed for 2 due to all the inconveniences, nickle-and-diming, and boredom. We would not return to this hotel, despite the fact the view from our beachfront room was beautiful.

Muy básico, no tiene prácticamente nada, sin restaurante, sin alberca, sin bar, sin lugar para comprar nada, camastros muy pocos y muy básicos. El WiFi simplemente no sirvió nunca y por lo visto así es siempre. La ubicación tampoco es muy buena, no hay tiendas ni nada cerca para comprar cosas, el hotel de atrás que si tiene restaurante y alberca y un roof, se molesta en recibir gente del hotel de enfrente. Depende tú Plan pero en general no es muy recomendable.

La ubicación es lo mejor si se desea estar a unos pasos de la playa, se puede disfrutar de una caminata a punta cocos para ver el atardecer y la bioluminiscencia... el hotel es cómodo y limpio, te permite relajarte y la atención es muy buena... lo único un poco complicado es la comida porque los restaurants quedan un poco lejos... el mas cerca sirve ricos desayunos y tienen buena atencion y esta en la playa

Dirty Hotel. Run down. Staff was not present. There is no official entrance. The door that needed to be found to get in had a bike lock on it. The room was disgusting. An a ton of seaweed piled up right outside the hotel giving it a stench I wouldn’t wish upon anyone. I would actually appreciate my money back.

Such a find on Holbox!

We loved our stay here! Don't be distracted by the photos...this place is a find. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. Israel is a top notch host and always available. Any issue or question we had and he fixed it. I don't know how they managed it, but this hotel is actually on top of the water. Yes, it's a 15-20 minute walk to the center, but it's a gorgeous walk along the beach and much quieter than the central hotels. We had one issue with the owner about the final price, which turned out to be a currency exchange issue (the dollar weakened since we booked) but she fixed it in our favor regardless. Highly recommended. We will be back!

lovely quiet seaside sequester

I felt taken care of by Amanda and her family but also give privacy. small fridge and coffee maker in room helped not being close to restaurants; if you're a fruit & coffee for breakfast type of person, it's perfect. Found out later there is a small cafe/resto near by that would be a 3 minute stroll, however it's closed mondays & tuesdays so I missed trying it. I loved having the sea tides come in and out right under the extended verandah. Just like the photos. I also liked the funky 70's style of building, lots of wood trim, window panes, doors made it very pretty. Clean well kept tile floors. Good mattress. fresh sheets. great breeze coming in through ample windows - didn't use the AC even once. WIFI weak & inconsistent but that was ok by me because I went there to unplug & rest.i rented a bike to have for the 4 days so could pedal into town (7-10 min) for food. take a flashlight for night time. there are some street lamps at spots but not many. felt safe as a woman on my own. some of these positives could change when the new 3 story motel being built on adjacent property is finished; that will definitely change the intimacy & quiet once there's more activity next door. highly recommend!

for calm ocean lovers

For relaxing stay it is perfect, on the beach away from town, quiet. Amanda was sweet and helpful. There are few if any amenities, so as long as you do not expect them, you are fine!
