Fabulous 2 Bedroom/2 Bath A-frame Retreat - The Coolest Place On Whidbey Island!

"The host was fantastic and responded quickly. The property was a letdown, though, compared to the photos, mostly because the photos make it look bright and cheery, but it's very dark, with poor lighting. We're glad we were mostly gone on outings because it felt gloomy. The house is so close to other homes that we could hear the neighbors' conversations. The kitchen could use a microwave. The counter was sticky. The kitchen did have some nice extras like tea and some spices, but a small amount of salt was just in a baggie, and the box of ziploc bags was empty. The downstairs bathroom is pretty BUT having a hand towel hanging right next to the toilet (see photo) where splashes can occur was really gross. The worst part was hearing the upstairs guests peeing in their toilet, and when they flushed, it sounded like a waterfall was going to douse us because the plumbing is right next to the pillow! I'm giving the details I would've wanted to read to make a more informed decision for future guests. If you're not picky at all, you'd like this place."

"Overall this location on Whibey Island on the lake is wonderful. The house itself has a lot to offer but was not kept up super well. It’s beyond being old. It’s a-shame because for instance the view is amazing and has multiple places to enjoy the views from but the furniture for the most part is in disrepair or simply covered in bird poop. Hard to want to sit in it. Game room was awesome! Large TV we could not get to connect to the spotty WiFi so of that’s what you need this isn’t the place potentially. We did not care too much and the kids ended up watching a movie on a iPad… would have been better on the TV but couldn’t get it figured out. All and all if you are very finicky, this probably isn’t the house for you. It is a large house that fits multiple families and we had a great time, but there are definite compromises that need to be made."

"The kitchen was perfect. It had everything we needed for cooking, grilling and making coffee. The views from the kitchen and the dining room are awesome. The deck has a beautiful view.You can sit there and have coffee or drinks and just enjoy all those beautiful plants and flowers. All of the rooms were nice and comfortable.The beds were great , we all agreed we slept great. I loved the washroom I was able to do my laundry and not have to bring back dirty. We were able to go visit arboretum, beaches, Mount Baker and other places and come back to an awesome home. My sons loved the place so much they were asking when can we come back, lol. The host was great at replying to our questions."

"The property being surrounded by nature was beautiful and we were so grateful to be able to experience such a secluded special space. That being said, for the amount of money we paid, we both were disappointed. There were large ants all over the house, so much that we thought there might be an infestation. We also kept encountering large bees inside the house as well, wondering if there was a hive somewhere in the roof. We heard constant buzzing from the bedroom at night and could never find where it was coming from. The house was also not clean — there were dead bugs everywhere and the mirrors and windows were dirty. There was also a dead mouse on one of the patio areas that looked like it had been there for a while. The WiFi was also very spotty and would kick us off every few minutes, it was very frustrating."

"We had an amazing family vacation here. Very clean, peaceful, and serene. The layout and decor of the home is beautiful. There is also some nice hiking on the property. The beach is about a 10 minute drive. There is also grocery stores, antique stores, and thrift stores near by too. Cannot recommend this place enough! Would definitely stay here again when visiting Whidbey Island!"
