"I arrived a bit early after riding my motorcycle all day in the rain. The owners welcomed me in, got me some hot coffee and some snacks. Two of the kindest people you will ever meet. The rooms are immaculately clean and well appointed. I highly recommend. "

"Stopped here en route to Italy by car, very much off the beaten track. Lovely countryside location, very peaceful. Pleasant welcome. good room with all facilities, bed was adjustable and very comfortable. Decor a little dated, but this is part of the charm of choosing a rural hotel. "Just returned from a wonderful stay at Chez Mathilde near Verdun. Annie, our host, was absolutely lovely — so welcoming and friendly, and she even treated us to delicious homemade goodies. The house itself was amazing, full of character with beautiful traditional features and immaculate furnishings throughout. It really felt like a home away from home. The area is fantastic too, with so much history to explore, especially the WWI sites nearby. We’d highly recommend Chez Mathilde to anyone looking for a charming and memorable stay! Thank you Annie "
