"The futon’s aren’t very thick so it can be a bit uncomfortable if you’re a side sleeper. Other than that our stay was great. The owner, Yudai, is incredible and has an excellent sense of hospitality. When I come to Hakone again this place will be at the top of my list. "

Unfortunately I didn’t see during booking that toilet and bathroom are shared for all guests (4-6 rooms, not sure exactly) but luckily we went to bed early and wake up late, so avoided the natural...

"This place was like an old abandoned japanese traditional style house, it’s good for only sleep at night.. The best thing of this property is it near to Shirahama beach which is the best beach in Shimoda in my opinion.. They don’t have parking which was inconvenient.."

"We were the only guests and thus had the whole house for ourselves. Amazing new outdoor Onsen and very spacious room with a wonderfull view. Very clean and good futon beds. Well equipped kitchen. We totally enjoyed our stay at Ikkyuan!"
