Amelia by the Sea, Amelia Island, FL

You are renting a time share, and staying in someone else's place, with their furniture, flat screen TV, cable, etc. The unit I rented had folk with good taste, two bedrooms , each with its own private bathroom, a living room, dining room, kitchen, with a large balcony overlooking an endless beach directly on the Atlantic ocean. We kept the balcony doors closed as the sound of the surf was pretty intense. The complex has six stories, we were on the second floor. There are elevators. All units have balconies facing the sea. There is a swimming pool. Across the street is a place with good food, music, and fun times. Cost for the unit was extremely reasonable, half that of places inland. Security is top notch, you are given a gate pass card to gain entry to the complex and also the beach, no surprises. Plenty of Privacy, and very few folk. We had the beach to ourselves for 4 days. We will be back.

Great staff, and each unit is owned by different people, but that said- unit 326 has peeling wallpaper, the toilet didn't work when we arrived, lights had burned out bulbs and the screen door was off the track and blew over on My mom's back. But the people were great and quick to remedy the issues they could. But the DVD still worked intermittently and the master bedroom had spots that were primed but not painted yet. Not so cozy.
