Before leaving town, we were able to see much of Aurangabad. After seeing some of the competitor hotels (only from the outside), I am convinced that the Taj is the best hotel in town. The grounds are beautifully kept, including a croquet court and gardens. Customer service is excellent, and the rooms and food establishments are high quality. We were easily able to arrange for a driver on our last day who took us to a few of the tourist spots on our way back to the airport on our last day.

The entrance to the hotel is most inviting - polished marble and spotless decor - during Xmas there was a charming seasonal sand painting on a glass-topped table in the lobby. The staff were most helpful throughout, providing tourist advice and looking after luggage even after check-out. The room was well appointed, and the view from my room was of a local landmark. The staff were super friendly and eager to please. The food was outstanding but you can’t get Indian breads from 3:00-7:30pm. Those were my eating hours and I came to India to eat Indian food. The WiFi didn’t work in my room and the water heater quit working. They offered to switch my room but I moved to a different hotel that offered Indian food all day.
