Smugglers' Notch Ski Resort is ~ 3 miles away with alpine and Nordic skiing. and loads of summer fun. Nearby, Stowe, offers a plethora of offerings (please note: Stowe is ~ 15 minutes away in the summer and is one hour away in winter months due to the closure of Rte 108). Jay Peak is 50 minutes away. This area is popular with painters, writers, photographers and to the art community at large. Equally a favorite for foodies and craft beer lovers. If you enjoy locally grown and the slow food movement, this is a place to explore. Discover the best of the country's best craft beer and savor locally grown food.

Ellen was great and our stay at the cottage was very pleasant. It had everything we needed and was very cozy and comfortable. The WiFi was occasionally slow at random, but overall no problems at all.

My husband and I returned to the Pondhouse for our second time this year, and it was just as good as the first! We highly recommend for anyone looking for hiking or just a relaxing getaway nestled between stunning mountains.

Beautiful country escape

We loved our stay at The Pondhouse, and we love the host. The space is lovely -- it feels like home. The host provides everything you need. And the view of the pond and grounds is spectacular. If you're looking for quiet and calm with a beautiful view, this is it.

Summer Country Respite

Terrific accommodations, fabulous host

This is a great place to stay. Close to Stowe, Smugglers Notch, and many local villages and attractions. Clean and nicely appointed, comfortable bed and lots of cooking tools (I love to cook a lot, we only eat out once or twice when we come up). The big front windows overlook the little pond and the beautiful grounds, and we can see the sun come up over the cloud shrouded mountaintops most mornings. It’s lovely. Ellen is a wonderful host and is just a message away if we need anything. We love Ellen!!

Wonderful experience at Pondhouse!

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at the Pondhouse. Ellen was a very gracious hostess, and was especially kind to help us when we experienced a flat tire (she hooked us up with a local repair shop, and drove us to purchase groceries during the repair.) The property was beautiful and peaceful, with plenty of space to walk our dog on the property itself, and on the adjacent road. The location was perfect, with easy access for family wedding activities at Jeffersonville, Smuggler’s Notch, and Stowe. Highly recommend!!

Exceptional Find in the Green Mountains

This was an amazing property tucked away in the Green Mountains within minutes of Smuggler's Notch. The property is absolutely beautiful with everything we needed for a one week stay. My wife and loved the location of the pond house! It was just rural enough with beauty everywhere the eye could see. Surrounded by woods and other breathtaking scenery! Very private and quiet ♥️ Our host was on site in case we needed anything and was very kind to us!

Beautiful property, great host, easy access, very clean.

Beautifully landscaped property. We spent one morning watching the hummingbirds fuss at each other at the feeder, a groundhog (maybe?) on the lawn and the pond fish jump around. The host was super friendly, attentive, accommodating and helpful with local advice. The accommodation was very clean, had all amenities, great windows and super fast WIFI.

Lovely get away

If you are looking for a secluded wonderland with a welcoming host, this is your place! We stayed for two nights and it was not long enough. The house is very well appointed and the kitchen loaded with everything one needs to cook. The living area is easy to hang out in, relax, read and enjoy the fabulous views.
