-Outdoor Amenities-
The outdoors are what make Starlight Sanctuary particularly special. Rather than one large patio, the five-acre property has a collection of inviting spaces connected by stepping stones across the desert. With protected land along its borders and no immediate neighbors, the landscape feels wonderfully open.
Spend a warm afternoon stretched out beside the 8-foot cowboy tub, built into a wooden deck with loungers nearby. The cowboy tub is a seasonal feature, available April through October and closed November through March. For a different kind of soak, the four-person hot tub sits out in the desert, where you can enjoy the changing colors of the sky.
Two hammocks invite afternoon naps, while a pair of hanging chairs beneath a wooden arch offers another comfortable place to settle in with a book. There's a gas BBQ for casual meals, a pergola for outdoor dining and Adirondack chairs gathered around a gas fire pit for cooler evenings.
But perhaps the most memorable spot is a little farther out on the property. A weathered red Ford Ranchero has been transformed into an outdoor daybed, complete with pillows and blankets. Climb into the truck bed, stretch out together and watch the stars emerge overhead. It's a wonderfully unexpected detail that captures the spirit of this home.
-Living Area-
The living room has the relaxed feel of a favorite desert hideaway. Windows on multiple sides bring in generous natural light and frame views of the surrounding landscape. A caramel-colored leather sofa, rust-toned textiles and warm wood furnishings give the room personality without overwhelming its simplicity.
Music is part of the experience here. Browse the record collection, put something on the turntable and settle into the sofa for an afternoon without an agenda. Books and board games offer a welcome change of pace, while the smart TV is ready when you're in the mood for a movie.
A cozy dining nook with a round table makes a lovely spot for morning coffee, planning a day in Joshua Tree or catching up on a little work using the home's Starlink Wi-Fi.
-Kitchen and Dining-
The kitchen is compact, welcoming and equipped for making meals at home. White cabinetry, open shelving, a gas range and island seating give the space a clean, functional layout, while stocked cookware, olive oil and spices make it easy to prepare anything from breakfast to a relaxed dinner.
Start your morning with a Nespresso coffee, with pods provided, or make a cup of tea before settling into the dining nook beside the windows.
When the weather invites you outside, take dinner to the table beneath the wooden pergola. Twinkle lights lend a little warmth to the setting, and the nearby gas BBQ makes outdoor cooking an easy part of your stay.
-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-
Starlight Sanctuary has one bedroom with a king bed and one ensuite bathroom, creating a comfortable, intimate layout especially suited to two guests.
A sliding barn door separates the bedroom from the living area. Inside, soft white bedding, a woven pendant light, macrame wall décor and natural wood details create a restful atmosphere. Windows look toward the surrounding desert, keeping the landscape close even when you're tucked into bed.
The ensuite bathroom is one of the home's most indulgent spaces. A double wood vanity with round mirrors and brass fixtures adds warmth, while the spacious shower features dual rain showerheads and textured tile.
The centerpiece is a freestanding soaking tub positioned beneath a window overlooking the desert. After a day exploring Joshua Tree, draw a bath, enjoy the quiet and take your time. With the hot tub outdoors and the Ranchero waiting beneath the night sky, there's no reason to rush anywhere.
