Room is very nice down to the details which include games, high quality bath products, good bed however communication with the app was confusing and difficult. The 24 hour email didn't arrive until about 6 hours prior to arrival. There is a charge for early check-in and no person to greet you when you arrive or if you have questions. Pool was ice cold and not warm as advertised. Shower was weak and cooled off too soon.

This was our second stay at The Bungalows, and I can already tell you: we'll be back again and again. It has turned into one of our favorite getaways. It's equal parts wildlife retreat and gateway to eclectic local culture. The property is so serene and simple, yet exactly what is needed for a comfortable and restorative stay.

We loved this place. The room was clean, the staff was helpful, the AC worked well. The pool was peaceful. My now fiancé proposed to me in the park then we came back to the resort and watched the stars. We could see the Milky Way from the property. 10/10 experience

Clean Mid-century modern (very cool), next to an interesting retreat center. Desert view and night sky views were great. Easy to get to the national park & nearby food. Ashley, on-site manager, was very helpful. Unique place, would stay there again!

We loved our weeklong stay at The Bungalows. The desert views and the quite nights were perfect. Beautiful full-length windows, kitchen, outdoor seating were perfect. It's close to everything restaurants, shopping, and the National Park. We went on a walk around the property and used the swimming pool. We would definitely stay here again and recommend the Bungalows to everyone. Now the only different part is it is check in and out online no office. Oh, and if you are in town on a Saturday don't forget to stop by the farmer's market its fantastic.

This is the best accommodation we’ve stayed at in Joshua Tree over the 20 years we’ve been coming here. Clean, comfortable, spacious, private, and in a great location. Close to Joshua Tree NP West Entrance, visitor center and Joshua Tree Saloon (great place to eat and drink). We’ll be back!

The bungalows themselves were modern and pretty. Our stove had take across it so couldn’t use it, and our dining table was dirty as if it’d gotten missed in the cleaning. We were unable to find the pool, and the cafe was never open when we were there - not sure if it’s supposed to be or if only open for group events? It appears to be a retreat for group events also but it was quiet when we were there. Convenient location. Bed was super comfortable. Cute balcony with loungers. Enjoyed our stay overall, though wished we could’ve found the pool. 😉

Wow. This historic property is really something else. And it is hard to keep up amenities at a place with such rich history. It’s even harder to make changes or additions without losing something. Homestead Modern has succeeded on both of those fronts. Artistic but minimalist room, swanky and cool without being dated, and modern without feeling out of place in the desert. Really enjoyed this stay and attentive the staff, even without anyone being “on site”. Can’t wait to see what they do with the rest of the property. Hope they keep the art installations. And add on and renovate the older cottages. Would definitely recommend the stay, and will do again!!

I can’t wait to stay again! Beautiful property and very spacious. It’s a pretty big piece of property, but I was able to follow the signs to my Bungalow. I had to call to get my door code because I couldn’t access my email and the hotel representative was very helpful and texted me the code right away. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils for cooking. The Bungalow was beautifully furnished and there were even charging cables. 10 out of 10!!

Great place to stay with a beautiful view. Wish I’d thought to pick up some breakfast items or the bungalows had offered to prestock. Didnt have enough time to explore the retreat center or those amenities, like the pool.
