"The worst hotel I have ever stayed in! This place is extremely run down, old and filthy. The photos on the this website must be from 50 years ago, as it looks nothing like that! The room was dirty, with cobwebs on the ceiling and windows, thick dust in the wardrobe and someones dirty used tissue still in it. Old fashioned carpet & curtains that are faded with wear and tear. The carpet was dirty with crusty stains and visible dust in the corners. The bathroom was from the 60's, peach bathroom suite with mahogany panels. There was so much limescale on the taps, they were green, with crusty marks in the sink, and in the base of the toilet that it was totally brown. The shower head over the bath had so much limescale that it just dribbled, so totally pointless. The worst part was that they never service my room in the 5 nights that I stayed there! After day 2, I went to reception and complained and asked why my room had not been cleaned, no fresh towels, no rubbish removed, no toilet roll. I also complained at how dirty my room was with cobwebs and dust.The 2 people in reception apologised and said they only clean rooms twice a week. That's disgusting! They handed me 2 toilet rolls and assured me that my room would be cleaned the next day. This never happened. In my whole stay they never cleaned my room or replaced my towels, even though I had requested it. They could not be bothered to offer any customer service. Don't waste your money staying in this horrible place, it's awful!"

"The room was clean and the bed comfortable. However, we really didn't like the Pub and Grill - small, crowded and very noisy - the football being shown on every vertical surface was embellished with loud and annoying music. We decided to eat in our room - which had its own contribution to add. The only way to order was via an app - which didn't work. As there are no phones in the rooms ( and no phone number provided to reach reception), I had to stand in the hallway to use one of the few phones around and order food whilst fellow guests walked past. It's a good thing I'm not self conscious! The food itself was ok, though being lactose intolerant seriously restricted my choices ( good thing I'm not a vegan!). Otherwise, the staff were very nice and I have no complaints on that front. Can't comment on the pool facilities as we didn't use them (despite paying for them) but that was entirely our fault."

"Bed frame was very squeaky when sit on it. Front desk told me that its the same in the other remaining room which was true to my surprise. Room was muggy warm, needed to use a fan to cool down; window locked closed. Bathroom was missing a set of towels for 2nd person. Front desk was friendly trying to help. Buffet Breakfast was good though."

"We were very disappointed with our stay and unfortunately will not be returning due to the service we received. While I was taking a short 15-minute break in the sauna, I left my toddler with my teenage daughter by the pool. My daughter was using her phone only to play a video for the toddler to keep her calm and distracted while waiting for me. A staff member told her not to use the phone, so she understood that photos were not allowed and put the phone away in the bag, facing only towards the toddler so she could continue watching the video. Despite this, she was approached again and told off, even though other adults around the swimming pool were openly using their phones without any issue. My daughter felt unfairly targeted and embarrassed. The staff were unsupportive, inconsistent, and lacked basic customer care. On top of this, the cleanliness standards were poor. The evening before, our toddler dropped fries under the table during dinner in the restaurant. The next morning at breakfast we were seated at the same table, and the fries from the previous night were still there. That says a lot about the level of cleaning and attention to hygiene."

"Just a quick over night visit so didn't use the pub but check in was straightforward and the room was clean. "

"Stain on carpet and sheets after room was “cleaned”, no fridge, other than that room was spacious and relaxing. No smart TV and no access to the back for a firestick so stuck with free view channels "

"Before you book, know that the primary business here is as a VERY popular family friendly pub! Most of the staff were very nice and helpful, though there's an expectation that you already know things and the anticipation that you are going to ask things that are wildly off target. The room was spacious and fairly comfortable, though needing a bit of attention--peeling paint, saggy loveseat, better pillows. A good place for a base to explore the region and basically be a place to sleep between excursions."

"Brilliant staff who catered for a large group of us. Rooms clean and parking good. Breakfast was very busy with more help needed but all hoe and freshly cooked. Definitely go again. "
