The Honua Kai is one of Maui's newer beach front resorts. It is located on the West side of the island on North Kaanapali Beach. It was built in 2009 and is situated on 43 acres of beautifully landscaped paradise. The Honua Kai has an infinity pool, hot tubs, lazy river, a kid's pool with a slide, and quiet pool for adults. There are 3 BBQ areas for your use. The well known Duke's Bar and Grill is located on the premises. It is a full service restaurant... enjoy happy hour with live music. The resort has beautiful open air lobbies with a Spa and newly expanded fitness center.

Enjoy our spacious and well thought out 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom floor plan with a central living room, and large private lanai with seating for the whole family. Our suite is located on the south side of Hokulani tower. This floor plan has split bedrooms located off each side of the living room for privacy. The master bedroom has a King Bed and huge ensuite with his/her sinks, a stall shower and soaker tub. The Master BR opens onto the lanai. The Guest BR also has a king bed. The main bathroom has his/her sinks, a stall shower and soaker tub. Each bedroom has ample closet space. The living area has a comfortable queen sized pull out. The suite comes fully furnished with a contemporary furniture package, Bosch kitchen appliances, and Bosch insuite laundry. A custom NanaWall sliding door system (wall to wall & floor to ceiling) brings the outside in, creating a seamless experience between interior and exterior living space.

There are 3 HD TV's, a 40" in each bedroom, and a 56" 4K Ultra HD in the living area. All TV's are smart with Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.

The Honua Kai resort has everything...the pools, beach, restaurants and shopping all within walking distance.

Al was so responsive and the amenities of his home and the location were amazing. I think its the best vacation with kids or even for yourself. We did not want to go anywhere else and we saw turtles on the beach out front. It was a dreamy stay.

Our family of four recently came back from our stay at this property, and we loved it. The owner/property managers were extremely responsive and accommodating. They immediately responded to questions, and they checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. It was so nice to work with them instead of a property management company. The condo was very clean, well taken care of, and completely stocked. The condo’s location was great too. Beautiful partial ocean view from the family room/lanai and short walk to the pool and Duke’s restaurant at the Honua Kai. We would not hesitate to stay here again and look forward to coming back.

Our family of 4 loved our stay at Al and Suzanne‘s place in Lahaina. The communications were all friendly, welcoming, clear, and thorough — making everything easy. The condo is lovely, with amenities on par with a first class luxury resort. You can’t beat sunsets on the beach right outside the door! We hope to return.

My family and I stayed here for 2 nights on our recent trip to Maui and had a wonderful experience! We had our two kids with us (ages 2yo and 6yo), and had them in one bedroom while my husband and I took the other room. The condo was clean and comfortable, and communication with the owner was excellent. The resort is also beautiful and very family friendly. I wish we were able to stay longer! We will definitely book again the next time we return to Maui :)

Everything from booking months ago to checking out was seamless. The Wilsons were extremely helpful and quick to respond; even checking in to make sure we got there and asked if we needed anything. The unit was exactly as described and had everything we needed. The photos are what you get but even better! This specific unit is located in such a perfect spot with regards to the pool, beach and elevator to the parking garage making our daily routines very easy. This was our first VRBO experience and it literally could not have gone any smoother! Absolutely zero apprehension recommending this place to family and friends.

Property was absolutely better than described- the view from the lanai was gorgeous- sunsets included. Our Hosts were very easy to communicate with. The condo had all the comforts of home and more! Pool and beach were easily accessible and so beautiful! Duke’s restaurant was delicious and laid back! Grocery and local food within walking distance! Snorkeling right off the beach was even better than our trip to Molikini! Highly recommend this property for families of any age!

The unit was perfect! Nice view, great location within the resort. Al & Suzanne were very helpful and provided info before we realized we needed it. We really appreciated their tips and suggestions document - very helpful and added benefit to our time there. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms was ideal for family of four. We loved everything about our stay in this beautiful unit. The property was big enough for our family of 6 to live comfortably, we had a full kitchen that we used for breakfast and lunches, a beautiful lanai, gorgeous view of both the mountains and the ocean, extra sheets and towels, a washer/dryer and basic cleaning and home supplies. Everything was spotless and of high quality materials. It was a high end resort experience without the high end resort prices. The property also has a restaurant on site, a convenience store with really good coffee, multiple pools, a lazy river and a water slide. Short walk to other restaurants and the food truck park The owners were wonderful and very quick to respond any time we needed something! We can’t wait to return!!

Our family of 5 (3teens) stayed for a week in August. We had a fabulous time! The unit is clean and well stocked with beach equipment (chairs, towels, boards, etc). The owner gave us a heads up on the construction next door for the Westin, and even gave us a discount. The construction was actually interesting to see. The only impact was some dust, which was no big deal. The Honua Kai is a very nice resort and Alan, the owner, was so nice and easy to deal with! I highly recommend it!

We stayed at Al and Suzanne's condo for 11 days with our 2 toddlers (ages 3 and 1) and had a fantastic time! The condo was well equipped with everything we need to cook for our family. It was very spacious and the layout worked great for our family (and would also work perfectly for 2 couples!). The view was even better in person than pictured! We ate several meals out on the balcony as a family. The pictures were extremely accurate. They even had a closet full of beach chairs, snorkeling gear, kids sand toys, boogie boards, and a cooler for beach fun! The resort was great too! The 4 pools and several hot tubs were great for variety. Duke's on the property was also fantastic! We'd definitely book this condo again!

We just returned from an action-packed, bucket list vacation in beautiful Maui. We were very pleased with our accommodations at Al and Suzanne’s place in Honua Kai. The condo was as described and provided everything we needed for an ideal stay. Beds were extremely comfortable, the lanai provided gorgeous views and there was plenty of space for the 4 of us. We were slightly disappointed that the king bed could not be separated as noted in the original listing, but we were made aware of this change prior to our travels. I was also a bit disappointed to learn that the Aina Gourmet Market had closed permanently… but the Whaler’s Market in the adjacent tower was open as a reasonably close alternative. The grounds at the resort were beautiful and extremely well manicured. The beach was fantastic and it was soooo convenient to have it on site. We ate at Duke’s a few times and it was fantastic (I would definitely recommend making reservations on OpenTable in advance if you are planning on dining during dinner hours, otherwise expect a wait). The food truck park was extremely easy to access and provided many options for our varying palates. If we were to return to Maui, I would 100% stay here again. Location was great. Communication was great and we were so appreciative to our hosts for a wonderful stay. Thank you!!!

Our stay at Alan and Suzanne's was something we'll remember for a life time! We loved the 2nd floor easy access up and down to the Market and to the Pool. The Construction had no impact whatsoever on our stay! The bulk of the Construction was on the far side away from us and as much as we were away from the Condo the Lanai was great to have but we rarely opened the doors! I'm going to be sadden when they raise the rates on us because I know how good of a deal this place is right now! The Condo had all the amenities we you'll need along with Toy's for the Beach and Pool. Our daughter used the Blue tube in the Ocean regularly and some how managed to Pop it, therefore we replaced it with the Pink one! We would highly recommend the Coffee shop at the market, our routine was to hit the Fitness Center and reward ourselves with Ice Americano's and the Coffee Beans there were the best we could find on the Island. For those of you who want to hit Whalers we found it easy to drive to the Marriott, valet your car, Only $10.00 and retrieve it the next day and take a Cab home, we found this to be our style due to the many bars we frequented at the resorts, Kannapali Beach Resort, looks kind of lower Budget however the Tiki Bar there is a must do! Can't say enough good things about our stay at Honua Kai! Location was great and Ocean surfing the best for swimming and sand! Mahalo! Scott and Jody Gibbons
