Lake fun awaits! Relax and enjoy this clean and freshly updated 2 story house

on Long Lake in Kalamazoo. Secluded in a private neighborhood yet still close

enough to the city and just a short drive when you want to enjoy a good

restaurant or a place to go for fun.



You'll love this amazing lakefront home in where you can make those family

memories you so deserve. Bring your own boat to explore Long Lake, a 575 acre

all sports lake. Enjoy all the amenities of home with a full updated kitchen,

dining table for meals or playing games, and a comfy family room for

conversation or just watching TV. Outdoors, you can relax or have fun in the

open grass of the backyard. Wrap up your night comfortably around our firepit

near the lake or gather around on our deck where you can enjoy our outdoor gas

firepit. Sleep comfortably in 2 bedrooms, each having a queen bed, with an

extra sleeper sofa in the living room to sleep 5 guests. 1.5 bathrooms and

private parking in the driveway.

Please note of the following policy in regards to pets:

\- The pet fee is $25 per night excluding tax and processing fee with maximum

Great place

Stayed here while we were in the area. Perfect location on the lake with lots of property for lakefront! Nice firepit, and recreation toys! Clean beach area, would definitely visit again!

Good place for pending the weekend with my teenage daughter. She enjoyed having smores over the firepit. Place lives a bit small, good for a few people.

This little property is a hidden gem with access to the lake and nearby amenities. The accommodations were Caleb and comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet. It provides a great place to relax.

Nice location

We like the location, the yard, and the dock. The dock was good for fishing and easy to get in and out of our kayaks. Unfortunately the indoor furniture was very uncomfortable and seating was limited. There is a strong odor when we entered the house.

Very clean, but unaware it was 2 story.

I took my elderly mom to MI for a baby shower and we stayed here. Very clean, but we were not aware through the booking that this was a 2 story. The stairs to the kitchen were narrow and hard for my mom to manage. She even fell coming up the second day. I would not have booked this had I known it was 2 levels, but other than that, very clean, and a cute place.

Good communication. Our oven didn’t work and the home needed cleaned (dust on fan blades and in corners bad). But it was a sufficient stay and beautiful locale.

Condition of property

The overall property was filthy . Carpet was gross . Safety hazards a many . The house smelled like gas a detector was found on top of fridge . I very old smoke detector only on 1 floor . When you rent a property you don’t want to spend a day cleaning .

Great little house with amazing yard.

My family recently spent our vacation here. It was great for our family (2 adults, 1 four year old, and a Boston Terrier) the house was clean, although there where some stains on the carpet. The water is hard with sulfur, but they had a water softener that made it tolerable. There where plenty of dishes, pots/pans, and silverware to use. The downstairs bed is comfy but has a big dip in it. We enjoyed the patio in the backyard until dark then we enjoyed the screened in (misquote free) porch. This house is located right off of a main road that brings you right into Portage. We really enjoyed the location of this house. One of the best features of the house is all the wildlife that comes with being so close to the lake. One morning during my shower I opened the window (in the shower) and watched an egret hunt fish at the little beach. We watched a painted turtle lay eggs by the tree. There where swans, tons of birds, and a bunch of snapping turtles that enjoyed sunning themselves on the beach. The yard is not completely fenched in, there is one section that is open, so if your dog is a runner you'll need a lead. Our dog was fine and stayed in the yard. Overall we enjoyed our stay & would rent this property again next time we are in the area.

Two Levels to Navigate

Let me preface my review by stating we are both seniors in our mid 80's with knee and back issues. We enjoyed the privacy and views of the backyard having our coffee early mornings. Very serene. The A/C was great on the hot humid days we spent there. Lovely updated modern kitchen was fully equipped with all one would need and had new appliances that we didn't use as we were mostly visiting family. Full updated bathroom downstairs, half upstairs. Very comfortable bed upstairs not so downstairs. Upstairs bedroom had a nice sized closet but only 2 wire hangers. Kitchen, bedroom and full bath on lower level had outdoor access to backyard. TV area, bedroom and 1/2 bath on upper level had access to street and parking area. Due to the outdoor access areas on either floor and the kitchen on separate floor from sitting area and more comfortable bedroom, this involved lots of up and down, which was not easy for us. Communication somewhat difficult but instructions thru messaging clear. Overall, rental was clean and there were no issues.

The unit is on 2 levels, which I don’t believe was disclosed in the description. Additionally, the water smells terrible with a strong sulfur/rotten egg smell. Check in and out was easy.

Lovely Place on the Water

The property is beautiful. There is an expansive yard right on the water with a small beach. It is cozy place with two bedrooms on separate floors. Each bedroom has a bath (one full; one powder room). The kitchen is well-appointed. The furnishings are modern and new.

I showed up around 11pm to the property on the first night, the porch lights were on which was inviting, however approaching the front door, the lock box was open with the key just set inside of it, less than ideal and raised some suspicion. Got settled inside and found crumbs, dust and hair all over the property as it looked like it had a very superficial cleaning and nothing more. For the rate of the property it was comparable to local hotels, which I ended up staying in due to the cleanliness of the place. I left that first night and had not been back. I was hoping it would be nice as I would be back in a few weeks for a family funeral and was going to stay again but was rather disappointed in the property.

Loved location!

Loved it, 2 problems though took away from the whole of the experience. The water from the sinks stank , no matter what we tried it stank. Shower, kitchen, bathrooms it smelled bad. The refrigerator gasket had mold all over, i got there first saw it and cleaned it before anyone else showed up. Other than that the location, the contact person, the house and furnishings were good. We absolutely loved the windows facing due east watching the sunrise over the lake each morning. The wildlife, the sounds, the quick access to everywhere.
