On the way to Öland stayed one night in Kalmar, and the hotel was close to the Kalmarslott (Kalmar Palace). It is nice sightseening place!

There are a number of different buildings to this hotel. We upgraded to a “quad” for the larger space. It contained a king bed and a pullout sofa which we did not pull out. The room was clean and the shower good. A plus was the heated towel rack which dried a number of things in our 2day stay. Our room happened to be in a lovely old house which unfortunately happened to be on the corner of this large property. If the windows were open , it was loud from traffic noise. Closing the windows actually made it quiet and after 11 there was no traffic at all. The property is country European with a restaurant in the back (our dinner was delightful and accompanied by an adorable young accordion player in a semi-covered courtyard.) There is an outdoor hot tub ( which we did not try) and various outdoor relaxing areas plus an inside and outside bar. We were there late August and the seemingly ever present breeze made the high temperatures and 70% humidity bearable. It cooled at night and so did the parties outside at the hotel. The staff are all wonderfully accommodating both in the hotel and the restaurant. We recommend Slottshotellet

Die Lage des Hotels ist toll. Einen Parkplatz auf dem Hotelgelände konnten wir leider nicht erhalten, das freundliche Personal verwies auf einen öffentlichen Parkplatz in der Nähe ( war 5 min Fußweg entfernt, günstig, OK !) Leider hatte unser Zimmer keine Klimaanlage, so dass wir auf grund der sommerlichen Temperaturen nachts bei offenem Fenster und mit ständig brummender Beschallung durch eine Kühlanlagen o.ä aus dem Küchen-Bar-Gebäude im Innenhof schlafen mußten. Das Frühstück war tadellos.

Trevligt och vackert område. Nära sevärdheter som Kalmar slott, konstmuseet, strand och strövområde. Dessutom nära till stadskärnan. Mycket bra personal och avslappnad atmosfär.

Semester

Väldigt mysigt hotell med fina omgivningar. Nära till stadskärnan och Slottet. Passa på att ta kvällspromenad i slottsparken och bort förbi slottet där sandkonstverken finns att beskåda på sommaren.

Jättetrevlig personal som är mycket hjälpsamma och serviceinriktade. Bra hotell med mysig innergård där frukost, bar och restaurang finns. Stort utbud på frukosten. Hotellet är dock äldre så i de rum vi bott i har det inte funnits AC. Denna gång vi bodde på hotellet låg vårt rum mot slottet, så rummet var svalt ändå då det skuggades av träden i allén. Finns annars fläkt i rummet. Tysta och välstädade rum. Vi kommer gärna tillbaka.

Dammiga lister, solen legat på hela dagen, då komfort av värme i rummet var väldigt varmt. Idé innan gäst kommer till rum 55 är att ställa upp fönstren i detta kyffe till takvåning, där det inte gick att luta ryggen mot väggen i sängen, pga av taklutningen. Den balkong som fanns gemensamt på vår våning var väldigt ingrodd av smuts. Vi är väldigt besvikna

Usel frukost och icke-fungerande dusch.

Vi brukar boka minst 4-stjärningt hotell och Superior-rum för att få det lilla extra i form av bra klass, bekvämlighet och god mat. Därför blev vi mycket besvikna på frukosten som var den sämsta vi fått på något hotell under alla år. Utbudet var mindre än vi sett någon annanstans. Vi fick dessutom vänta många gånger då det ofta var slut på det lilla som skulle finnas. När det dessutom svämmade vatten över hela golvet i det mycket trånga badrummet så kändes det bara uselt. Det som gör det extra upprörande är att vi inser att det inte kan vara ett nytt problem utan att hotellet har känt till detta länge. Alla som använder duschen i detta rum har fått översvämning i rummet då det saknar fall.

Mysig innergård

Litet rum, sköna sängar. Badrummet inte så rent. Hela rummet slitet och behöver renoveras. Besviken på frukosten, skulle kunna vara så mycket bättre. Mysig innergård att koppla av på och dricka något gott. Men priset för ett par nätter är alldeles för högt med den här standarden
