Excellent place

This is a very lovely home, with wonderful owners. It’s in a great location with easy access lots of great beaches and hiking opportunities. Would definitely stay there again.

Perfect

We loved the house and it's back yard. Clean and we'll equipped with a location just minutes from our favorite beach. Our stay was problem free and we are so glad we chose this property.

The house is so beautiful. It has a great view. Location makes getting to the best beaches quickly. The owners are so kind and thoughtful. We enjoyed our time here so much. We laughed, learned, and had so much fun.

Quiet Getaway in Paradise

The home had everything we could have needed or asked for. The views were fantastic! We watched whales from the yard and enjoyed the sunset each night along with a sky full of stars! The location is perfect to get away from the excitement and crowds in Kona, so you can truly slow down and enjoy all the island has to offer. There are great beaches within minutes of the home and the wonderful town of Waimea just up the mountain with restaurants and grocery stores. Nicole and Nick were responsive to messages and wonderfully kind.

Love the Location

The house is perfect for our family. We love the location and convenience of the beaches. The house has everything I need. The kitchen is well equipped, the only thing I miss is a salad spinner :) The property managers were wonderful. We didn't bother by the street noise. We will be definitely staying here again.

Great property in awesome location

Nice property with great outdoor lanai area. Really well equipped with everything you need for an awesome stay in Waimea area. Great kitchen and outdoor grill, all good quality appliances. Really handy to Spencer Beach Park and Hapuna and tons of other great coastal spots. Also handy short drive to local Waimea restaurants (Seafood Bar & Grill), as well as local fresh produce market and fish market. We were not really concerned about road noise, there is some during the day, but not a big deal overall. We would stay here again!

Return visit was even better than the first time!

Second visit to this wonderful house. First time was fantastic, this time was even better. Clean, comfortable with lots of convenience, amenities and upgrades from 2 years ago! The back yard is a wonderful place to relax. Excellent hosts that communicate well and promptly. Once again they welcomed us with thoughtful and delicious goodies. Hopefully we can make it back very soon!

A Home Away ! Thanksgiving.

In between Waimea and the beaches. This is a home - and so very welcoming. The hosts have thought of everything … games, cooking, cleaning, internet, tv, direct communications, books, towels, clothes line, landscape, decor. All done with personal kindness. The views - makai and mauka - we are grateful. Mahalo nui loa. And ‘til we meet again.

Perfect stay

I cannot say enough good things about this rental. I was attending a conference at the Harpuna Beach Prince resort, just five minutes away. The cost of staying there was formidable for a family of five. Cannot believe the luck my family had in finding this rental only a few months prior to our arrival. We were greeted by Mary at our arrival and given a tour. Clean, comfortable beds, well-stocked kitchen, and big backyard for our kids to run around. Great location for exploring the entire island. Highly recommend.

Perfect in every way! Most relaxing VRBO stay ever!

This house is so full of character - Hawaii style! Everything was sparkling clean, and very well equipped. You will find just about everything here that you have in your own kitchen. Very well stocked, including beach towels and beach chairs. Nick and Nicole are the most gracious hosts I've ever met-they feel like family. Great communication, and very attentive to any questions or needs. We were even greated with a loaf of fresh baked bread, butter and jam, a bottle of wine and macadamia nuts! As a bonus, the house has a massage chair that we used daily to top off our already relaxing days. The yard has a lush lawn, picnic table perfect for happy hour and sunset view over the ocean. The best thing, it's a 5 minute drive to the beach! We loved Nick and Nicole, and the house. We'll be back!

Lovely home

Beautiful view overlooking the ocean, and both mountains! Lovely sunsets. Stargazing at night without needing to leave the house was a bonus! Well stocked with everything we needed in the kitchen. Beautiful outdoor space with lots of seating choices. Very responsive hosts. Beds were comfortable. Great water pressure in the shower! Be aware it is right on the main road, so there is some traffic noise, but it did not detract at all from our enjoyment of the home. The neighborhood itself is very quiet. Having an easy drive to the Kohala coast beaches, Waimea, and Hawi was so nice.

Fantastic Stay

The two houses we rented were superbly priced, decorated, and provided with everything you could imagine as if you lived here all the time. Comfortable, affordable and in the best location on the Big Island a visitor could as for. Close to historical locations, close to water falls and hiking and the best beaches the Big Island could offer. I have never stayed at a rental that was as perfect as these two houses in this quiet peaceful village. The Host treats you with the most kindest and most caring respect you will ever experience.

One of our favorites!

Even before we arrived, we knew this trip was going to be special. Communication was excellent. Upon arriving, the thoughtfulness was displayed everywhere. Never have we walked into a home and found fresh warm bread with butter waiting for us! The owners checked in with us to make sure we didn't have any questions or needs. The house had everything we needed, from a fully stocked kitchen, to plenty of towels and beach equipment. We loved the multiple places to sit outside. My husband and I both enjoyed the massage chair. Sunsets were gorgeous. We enjoyed watching the New Year's Eve fireworks from the backyard. The home is so close to our favorite beaches. The owners really cared that we enjoyed our time. Can't wait to return! Mahalo!

Oasis with Cerulian Ocean Views

Thank you so much for accommodating me on my work trip! I needed a central location, and being close to the beach was a huge bonus. Thank you for a well-stocked kitchen, massage chair, and wonderful down pillows. I am not a good sleeper, but sunk into the memory foam king and didn’t wake up until morning. Lastly, I just booked our vacation with you - two weeks for the four of us, for 1/4 of what a hotel there costs. So glad I discovered Kawaihae…

A place we love

Our fourth time at Hale Ohia was as nice as our other visits. The house fits us so well. Ken LOVES the massage chair! Had a night or two with an AMAZING sky full of stars (some light clouds the other nights). We had a concern or two, and they were dealt with, as usual. Nicole and Nicolas are great. It would be a turn off for some people, but I find the light back and forth traffic kind of soothing.

Great Place to Stay on Big Island

The house is lovely and well-kept. The hosts clearly put some love into it. We really appreciated how well-stocked it was with beach and kitchen equipment. The sunsets from the back yard are amazing. The house had more than enough space for my wife, daughter and me. We would definitely stay there again.

First Kawaihae stay

Sweet, very clean little cottage with small bedrooms but oh so comfy beds. It was perfect for the two of us. We’d recommend investing in higher grade, softer pillows if possible as our only suggestion for improvement. The tradewinds can get strong but they also offer a cooling effect that’s welcome in the afternoons. Super convenient spot that’s close to beaches as well as the town of Waimea less than 15 minutes away. Big views! Our hosts were the kindest, most gracious people you could hope to meet and we felt bathed in island aloha from the moment we chose this property. Communication was clear and prompt and their primary goal was for us to have the best time possible. They had us from the moment we walked in and were greeted by a warm loaf of home baked bread, accompanied by fresh butter and jam. Whoa! Truly a relaxing and welcoming stay.

Family vacation

Property had everything we needed to include coffee maker/filter and French press, oils and spices, lots of cookware. Beach toys for kids, snorkel gear, boogie boards, chairs and beach towels. Beds were comfortable and house was clean. The yard is large and there’s a fence along the back boarder so we felt safe with the kids playing outback while we made dinner. We would love to stay at this home again. Short drive to several nice beaches.

Great Vrbo Big island

This is my second time staying here .Its an awesome house with a big yard with a beautiful view! The owners have provided you with everything you need .You can enjoy the cozy feel ,Hawaiian decorations and a massage chair too ! The beach is 5 minutes away ! 5 Minutes to World-Class Beaches!

This was our third stay at this beautiful and immaculate home. Hale ‘Uhane is tucked away in Kawaihae Village, with the volcanoes in the distance and beaches within the view. The home is well-stocked and the amenities left us not needing to make the multiple trips to the store we usually have to “fill in” gaps where other rental properties have been lacking. We feel safe and cared-for at this home. From the garden swing with morning coffee and ocean view, to star-gazing in the calm night, this home is a great value - your private slice of paradise!
