Search Ryokans in Kanto Region

What an amazing Ryokan right in the heart of Tokyo! It's both less expensive and nicer than other ryokans in Asakusa. From the tea room to the incredible staff, to the gorgeous, modern rooms, definitely consider staying here instead of a normal hotel next time you're in the area. Their reservable open-air bath with the Skytree view is something else. The only negative is that it is a slightly longer walk to their location from train stations compared to other Ryokans in the area, but that means...

Hakone Suisen provided the best service I expected. The staff were really kind and friendly, the facility was clean and nice, onsen(both inside and outside) were great, and they even provided simple breakfast! Onsen is not big as normally depicted in Japanese media(movie/drama) but the water source is outstanding. Unfortunately, it is difficult to access other restaurants/cafe from the location by public transport, so I HIGHLY recommend you to enjoy your dinner at somewhere else before...

Incredible experience. Very kind staff and everything to the rooms, onsens, dinner and breakfast were fantastic. We will definitely return again

Staffs spoke fluent English and are super communicative. Overall great experience, scenery of the onsen is amazing. Just want to highlight though, when we used the shuttle bus to arrive at the Gora Station, bus driver didn’t really help to carry the luggages down which is fine, just feels a bit weird to see the contrast before and after leaving the hotel. Overall, hospitality 9.5/10.

This place was absolutely wonderful! My first time experiencing an onsen and it was amazing. The shuttle pick up and drop off from the train station was great. The welcoming staff at check in/check out. The room I selected was AMAZING!! So serene and quiet. I got the private bath with my room, and boy was it relaxing. The halfboard/dinner and breakfast was AMAZING!! The food was soooo fresh and delicious. Do note, that it is further away from most of the attractions in the area, so if youo...

Very approachable for a more cultural, traditional experience. Was very easy for an American foreigner like myself to have a truly authentic experience. Staff is incredibly hospitable, helpful, patient, and capable. My first ryokan experience that I have Yusakaso to thank. Quality onsens, extraordinarily clean.

Excellent food, convenient location, and attentive staff; we thoroughly enjoyed our 3-night stay at this century-old inn! We chose Joshuya for an authentic ryokan experience. Stay here for a nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere, home-style Japanese meals shared with guests, excellent public hot spring, and a location within walking distance of major historical sites and Tobu Nikko Station. If you want conventional beds, private bathrooms, or the flexibility to come and go whenever you please, look...

Beautiful Ryokan with caring staff and a delicious breakfast!

I love the hotel. Tsukino is an interesting and successful synthesis of traditional ryokan atmosphere with modern facilities. While my room comes with TV, fridge, western-style couch, a king sized bed, and a modern bathroom, the rest of the decoration is Japanese in style. The room also comes with a tube in the balcony. The balcony faces a very steep hill with dense foliage around 40 feet away. Thus I was able to take my baths in open air with ensured privacy. The 6th floor of the hotel...

We stayed here with our four-year-old and had a wonderful time. They provided child robes and meals and everyone was so kind. Free coffee and tea downstairs and amazing baths in the rooms! Would definitely return.

Loved staying at this property! Absolutely beautiful. Very friendly staff. Room was stunning. Would recommend the Japanese style breakfast during your stay and visiting the onsen!

Absolutely loved our story here. If you book here, get the Sora room. It is worth it. It has its own private bath and lots of space. We loved it. And the town surrounding, is so cute and fun to walk around. It is a short walk from the bus when you arrive. The staff was so welcoming and sweet. We highly recommend staying here.

I think very few gaijin go this far out. Some of the communication was difficult but the staff tried really hard and we enjoyed the stay Hard to navigate getting to and from major stations and it snowed one day at end of March Overall I’m glad we did it for the experience to be immersed in Japanese culture.

A beautiful old and authentic ryokan experience. Lovely service, staff and onsen! I would stay there again and recommend it to anyone who appreciates the Japanese culture and traditions.

Staying in this hotel was one of the most amazing experiences during my trip. The room was spacious and even had a restroom, which was a nice surprise. Although the rooms were marked as smoking (perhaps by mistake), there was absolutely no odor. The kaiseki dinner was incredible, and the breakfast was great. Used the indoor onsen, which was nice and clean. Sleeping on the tatami floors wasn't very comfortable, but one night was okay, and I got the experience that I was looking for. Overall -...

Dinner was outstanding. Enjoyed the private hot spring bath, beatiful “lobby”!
