The location (the ocean is right outside your patio door) is awesome! You can see and hear the ocean 24/7! There’s a grassy area just off the patio where you can sit overlooking the beach, or you can take the easy stairs down to the beach! The beach is narrow and rocky but you can wade there and watch the tiny fish. If you walk down the sidewalk just outside the complex going north, you will find a “beach access” path that takes you to a big beach, and to Lava Lava Beach Club, and to Lae Nani beach (which is at the end of your condo beach but is hard to get to because of the rocks and logs). Lae Nani is a rock-ringed pool good for wading or getting wet, and good for kids. The best beach we found for swimming (safest) was Anini Beach. Just beyond the beach path is the Coconut Marketplace, with a grocery store and lots of shops and a few cafes. They have freehula shows there, and farmers markets! If you walk just across the street and a little south of the complex, you will find Passion Bakery, that makes fresh malasadas (cream-filled doughnuts!) on T/TH/SAT (get there before they open)! Just south of the condos is another safe place to swim and snorkel, that is Lydgate Beach Park (the rock-bordered pools are at the north end). Just a short drive north of the condos is the bike/walking path that follows the coast for several miles. Hele on Kauai rents bikes about a block from the path. We recommend eating at least one dinner at Sam’s Ocean View Restaurant, a little drive north, it was the best meal we had on Kauai! There is a Safeway a little drive north also, and many other restaurants and shops. Wailua Falls and Opeakaa Falls are a short drive, and you can walk to the Wailua River! The unit itself had everything we needed and the pool and grill was great!
