Its the final day of 10 and im typing this beside the pool wondering if i can push my flights back... indefinitely...
The Villa has housed 7 of us with room to spare, its a beautiful example of a new build villa and one of the nicest ive seen here. split over 4 floors each bedroom has been finished to a very high standard each ensuite is also lovely. the living area is large, comfortable and modern the teenage boys especially loved the huge HD TV with direct internet access and the 3D glasses. The sofa is enormous easily seating all of us when we decided to watch a movie. The kitchen was large enough to house 3 floyd style cooks and it opens onto the communal living space so you never feel out of it. If you like me love to cook you may find theres a lack of appliances its pretty basic, no hand whisk even, made the pancakes challenging but its a small point. We ate on the outside dinning table every night we were at the villa its huge and right next to the gas grill which we used twice. The pool and outside seating area also only get praise, i would definitely recommend the villa Jasmine, but more than that the area, Kalkan is utterly charming, theres one big club by the harbour Ibiza style the boys went to 3 times and loved, it easily compares to some of the better London clubs and easily over 100 smaller restaurants and bars for the quieter evenings, the shopping is amazing so bring plenty of cash... Taxis are cheep and the place if pretty magical.
so what are the draw backs.... there must be some. There are but they are all such minor points ill just bullet them.
The villa doesn't have a folder with useful local info in it so do your area research before hand to save losing time at the start.
All the floors are polished stone, its stunning, but it proved lethal on several occasions over 10 days there was around 10 falls (especially in the bathroom and stairs)
The bill in the bars and restaurants is invariably wrong, theres always something on there you didn't order, however they do take it straight of once you point it out.
The villa is on a hill, a steep hill, a really steep hill. its probably only 100 meters to the flat road and We all managed to walk up it to the cafe and shop for supplies but it would be a challenge to someone who isn't at least of medium fitness.
Finally the worst thing is its so lovely you don't want to leave.....im going back to London totally dissatisfied at its lack of Mediterranean climate.
