"We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel and cannot recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel genuinely welcome, and the level of personal service we received was exceptional.
The manager went completely above and beyond for us during our stay. When I became unwell, he kindly took the time to drive me to a local chemist so I could get the medicine I needed. This act of kindness was incredibly appreciated and is something we will never forget. Nothing seemed like too much trouble, and his warmth, care, and genuine concern made a difficult situation so much easier.
The hotel itself is beautiful, spotless, and very well maintained. Everything was immaculately clean throughout our stay, and there was a lovely personal touch that made it feel much more welcoming than a standard hotel experience.
Our room was extremely comfortable, with a cosy bed and everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The bathroom and shower were excellent, modern, and stocked with all the amenities we could have asked for.
Breakfast each morning was wonderful, with a great selection of fresh, high-quality food. Overall, this was a fantastic experience. The hotel is beautiful, comfortable, and exceptionally clean, but what truly sets it apart is the outstanding hospitality. The manager’s kindness and dedication to his guests are second to none. We would happily return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and genuinely caring experience"
"Super stay for 1 night. The hotel is used by tour groups so breakfast can be crowded at certain times. Coffee machine terribly slow and forms a queue - but there is filter coffee , tea and various flavoured teas if you can't wait.
Staff are super efficient and kind, even the maintenance man helping elderly people with their bags on the steps.
If you arrive by your own car park in the public park under the square that Google maps brings you to - cheap prices and safe.
Hotel is super situated for everything Gjirokaster has to offer by walking."
"Villa Sharm is an oasis on the hill set amongst the local apartments. Had a great room looking over the town towards the Gjirokastër castle. Breakfast was a fair hotel buffet. Not the best but not the worst. Staff were helpful in sorting my questions. Twenty minute walk over to the Old Town Bazar area. Parking at property was excellent."
"The room was clean and beautifully decorated in a traditional Albanian style. The breakfast was authentic Albanian cuisine and a great way to experience the local culture. The owner Eda Kotoni is attentive and knowledgeable of the areas to visit. I highly recommend this place because of its excellent location near the Old Bazaar and Gjirokastër castle."
"We had a fantastic couple of nights' stay at Stitch & Stones, which is ideally situated near all the main sights in Gjirokaster, near the castle, the bazaar and lots of bars and restaurants nearby.
The rooms are beautifully designed with a very high standard of finish. We were welcomed by the owner and given our choice of rooms. Breakfast is provided by the restaurant on the ground floor and it was fresh and tasty, and there is a lovely roof terrace bar which we visited several times for drinks at sunset, looking out over over the town and surrounding valley.
If this place is available, don't hesitate to book! A real hidden gem in Gjirokaster!"
"Great stay! Bedroom was clean and bed was comfortable. Marcos helped us get our car up the tricky street and gave us some great food recommendations! Will come back!"
"This was an amazing little hotel with big features
We love the character and how comfortable and clean the room was and had everything that we needed. The spa and sauna were absolutely amazing and I’m sure the outdoor pool would be a huge bonus when warmer. The staff were really helpful and the breakfast was promised to be amazing and it definitely was. I can highly recommend staying here to all your friends."
"Tough to get to but nice parking area. Google Maps takes you the wrong way so lookout. My room heater didn’t work and the lights in the bedrooms area didn’t work so had to depend on the glow from the bathroom light which did work. One of two small night stands didn’t work and the one that did had a short circuit so it went on and off. Breakfast was really weak but a very nice effort. This is a small place so it’s great if your expectations are in proper alignment. Location is fantastic. Staff very friendly. "
