"Quite a mixed experience. Despite the email received before arrival, the reception area isn't open from 06:00 to 22:00, in fact it's barely manned at all. However obtaining room keys from a key safe worked perfectly well. The room is not nearly as good as shown in the pictures. A "double room for single occupancy" has a single bed, not a double. The bed is comfortable but the rooms are tired with cracks in the plaster and old furniture, needing an urgent refresh. Breakfast is perfectly...

"This was a wonderful and extremely relaxing stay. Service was impeccable especially from Daniel who made sure our every needs were met. Restaurant was also excellent in the evening ! There is no spa or swimming pool at this location but we used the nearby sister hotel which had a great swimming pool and sauna. "

"This historic palace of empress Victoria is beyond exceptional. The grounds were pristine with trees from all over the world. The palace is full of oil paintings, stained glass and exquisitely carved furniture. The rooms were spacious with very comfortable beds, a two person bathtub and music in the bathroom.
