"We stayed for 6 nights in late July. Unfortunately, after our first night we had to request a change of room, as our mountain-view room was located at the front of the hotel overlooking the main road - used by local boy racers late into the night, making it impossible to get a good night's sleep.
We moved to a sea-view room, which was quieter. However, we were still regularly disturbed by noise from furniture being moved on the balconies above, as well as housekeeping staff carrying out their duties. Despite signs requesting guests to keep noise to a minimum, there was frequent noise from both neighbouring rooms and corridors.
Our third night, we found a large cockroach in our room. The room attendant removed it, the room was cleaned again, and we were given a late check-out as a gesture of goodwill. While we appreciated the apology, we were surprised that we were not offered a room change, which would have provided greater reassurance for the remainder of our stay.
On a positive note, the staff handled our initial request to change rooms professionally and courteously, applying a discount to the additional cost of the sea-view room. We found the staff friendly, welcoming and helpful. The breakfast selection was varied and of good quality, with attentive service.
Overall, despite positive aspects the repeated disturbances and the cockroach incident significantly affected our experience. We travel extensively and, regrettably, this is not a hotel we would choose to return to."
