Cinnamon Bear House - A Nature Lovers Dream, Perfect for Ski Retreats
8/10 Good
"Beautiful property with a gorgeous lakefront view. We enjoyed staying cozy by the fireplace and the quality, comfortable furniture with a lake house motif. Loved the large smart TV. We appreciated comfortable beds and fluffy bath towels. However, we were disappointed that upon arrival the house interior was DIRTY, especially the kitchen and bathrooms. This house needs a serious deep cleaning. Not sure when the last time it was really cleaned. Dirt and dead bugs in the corners, cobwebs hanging from kitchen ceiling, hair in the shower, grease splats on the stove and sticky drips of something on the kitchen countertop. I could go on and on. It was not up to our cleanliness standards and put a damper on our stay there. This home could really benefit from a bathroom upgrade—shower doors are hard to open and close properly, poor shower head output, steady drip in the upstairs sink making it smell like mold, and just overall not very clean. We didn’t dare walk barefoot or in our socks in this house. Thank goodness we brought slippers. It’s a great place if you’re in a camping frame of mind and don’t mind other people’s dirt. The interior walls were dirty—could use a good wipe down. The lake was so peaceful but we were bummed the dock and chairs were already put up for the season. We are not sure it was worth the price we paid to stay and probably would look elsewhere next time."
Loon Lake Retreat - Located on Loon Lake, with additional guest cottage for rent as well
10/10 Excellent
"This was the absolute perfect cabin to host my family which included 3 grown kids and 2 grandchildren. We could all feel the love that has been poured into this family cabin. So thankful for the owners sharing this!"
Lupine Lodge - Adorable, newly renovated cottage, with water access and dock on Loon Lake
10/10 Excellent
"Our family's stay at Lupine Lodge was wonderful. The home was welcoming and comfortable. Lake access was easy and we felt we had our own private space carved out. Something to keep in mind: the entire shoreline does have a lot of pretty big rocks, and the far right edge of the lake has a current running through that can be difficult to navigate with a kayak.
All in all, our stay at Lupine Lodge was one of the most relaxing vacations we have had in a long time. We hope to come back again in the future!"
"I'm sure that anyone who searches for a vacation spot from afar always worries if what you see over a computer screen will meet expectations, Serendipity exceeded them and dismissed any concerns from the minute we got out of the car, and only got better upon entering the house. This was a home run that turned into a grand slam as the week progressed. The house had every possible amenity you need. It's not a high end over the top house, but perfectly suited for everyday folks who love Maine and cherish each day you're there. The location is absolutely perfect. It's quiet, located on a no engine pond ( a non-negotiable must ) with a 35 yard walk to the dock. We enjoyed each sunset with loons calling across the pond. The proximity to Oquossoc Village in 5 mins is terrific. The museum is filled with an abundance of historical artifacts and information about Rangeley, the Oquossoc Store (great for lunch, burgers) is reasonably priced and has great service, along with the Farmers Daughter. It didn't seem possible a short drive back would take us to the peaceful Serendipity. The many hiking trails are close, downtown Rangeley is 10 mins away, it's an overall great location.
The team of knowledgeable and responsive rental agents helped me find exactly what I was looking for. They listened carefully, and if they weren't 100% sure about a question, they consulted a colleague for an accurate answer. Morton & Furbish really get customer service and the service experience. Our well behaved dog was in heaven.
I wholeheartedly recommend Serendipity for your trip to Rangeley."
