Deer Close Cottage - sleeps 2 guests in 1 bedroom

Step inside this romantic retreat for two and you will immediately feel right at home. This welcoming Lakeland Cottage is accessed via the large doorway from the patio area, which leads into the spacious open-plan kitchen and dining room. This light and airy room makes the perfect space to cook and dine with delightful views looking toward the fells and Borrowdale Valley. The kitchen is well equipped with electric oven and hob, fridge with freezer shelf, dishwasher, microwave, and plenty of cookware. There is a useful utility room which houses the washer-dryer.

The lovely bedroom has a superking-size bed (can be made up as twin on request) with luxury crisp white bed linen, plenty of storage space, and views either side to the nearby woods and field.

The bathroom has a bath with a shower over it, ideal for relaxing tired muscles after a day out exploring, a recessed washbasin and a handy heated towel rail.

The inviting lounge has comfortable seating, wall-mounted smart TV, and double aspect windows.

There are two pretty patio areas, both with seating. On warmer days these are the ideal spots to gaze at the surroundings and soak up the beauty of this isolated setting while enjoying a moment of calm with a good book or a glass of wine.

Across the drive, the adjacent owner's house and garden are a delight to look out upon, and wildlife, including deer and red squirrels, can often be seen in Great Wood at the rear.

The cottage makes the ideal base for both nature and adventure seekers, as well as those who like the convenience of town amenities nearby. There is an abundance of choice when it comes to walking routes from the doorstep including Derwentwater lakeside and the fells, or why not bring your bike with you to see even more of this beautiful area with pedal power. There is designated lockable storage for bikes and equipment.

The cottage is located just over a mile from vibrant Keswick town centre, an easy walk along a footpath or by the lakeside. There you can explore the unique independent shops, restaurants, cafes, traditional friendly pubs, and the popular market on Thursdays & Saturdays.

Delightful first stay at Deer Close Cottage.

Delightful first stay at Deer Close Cottage. Very comfortable, well equipped and great location with lovely views from the property. We were able to walk into Keswick along the footpaths, yet still felt tucked away in the privacy of the countryside. Local wildlife was fun to observe and enhanced the holiday. It was very quiet and peaceful, the facilities were all that we needed and it was especially nice to be able to soak in the bath after a day of fell walking. I have already shared details of the cottage with a friend who is planning a trip to the Lake District next year. A couple of (minor) points - i) the sofa is quite soft and offers little support, although the scatter cushions did help. ii) one of the saucepans required cleaning as something had been burnt on the base of the pan and a small frying pan seems to be losing its non-stick surface.
