About Us:
Grouse Haven Cabin was built in 2003-2004 by the current owners. The cabin was named Grouse Haven because while we were building we could hear the Grouse birds in the area “drumming”. The cabin is secluded in a red pine forest with lots of Mother Nature in its surroundings. There are trails for hiking and cross-country skiing. There is also a picnic area located at the lower end of the 90-acre property that you can get to by hiking trails. The cabin is located in the heart of the Finger Lakes with close proximity to Penn Yan, Hammondsport, Watkins Glen, 2-3 miles to Keuka Lake State Park, the Finger Lakes wineries, micro breweries, Keuka college, and more.

Weekend Getaway

We came to area for a competition and decided to make a weekend. Grouse Haven was perfect! Beautiful grounds and great cabin! It was clean and had everything we needed! Would definitely recommend and hopefully we will stay again!

Relaxing retreat

My husband and I enjoyed our 3 night visit to Grouse Haven. It was extremely peaceful and relaxing. The surrounding area was beautiful and we enjoyed walking in the snow covered woods on the property. We enjoyed our time at Grouse Haven so much that we hated to leave. Phyllis was a delight to get to know and was very helpful to us. We can’t wait to make a return visit to this lovely property.

Perfect getaway cottage

We had a lovely time staying at Grouse Haven! It was secluded yet close enough to the wineries and breweries. The dogs enjoyed roaming the property and the fireplace inside the cabin added that homey feel.

Nice quiet out of the way

Nice property. Was a little difficult to find at first, especially in the dark as the tall thin flag sort of hid among the trees. Beds were comfortable and all supplies needed were available.

Great cabin in the woods!

We have stayed at this cozy cabin multiple times and always have a great time. There is so much to do, whether lake activities, wineries, picking fruit, visiting family/friends, or just getting away this cabin is a great jumping off point and retreat! Highly recommend.

Quiet hidden treasure in the woods

A beautiful property with character and charm. It was a perfect start to our holiday. My two pups loved running around in the snow cover forest. We were able to see a few deer walking through the woods. We got a little lost at the beginning due to GPS listing the property on the wrong side of the road but a quick call to the amazing host we were able to find it no problemable to find it
