The hotel was just what we wanted for a weekend away. A perfect location for exploring the area with excellent breakfast and evening meals. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable.
Room and bathroom spotlessly clean. Low beams and door to bathroom so 6 ft husband kept banging his head. Limited breakfast choice but cooked options were good. Large party while we were staying so service slow. Staff were pleasant and helpful.
Once again another wonderful stay. Hotel room was spacious and clean. Food was excellent as always. But did feel menu was a bit limited would have liked a choice of maybe a burger
We had a lovely stay, room was a great size and nice and clean.
We ate in the bar in the evening, the food was great with an array of local beers.
Our breakfast was included and was a highlight of the stay. Staff are welcoming, friendly and very helpful.
We hope to stay again.
Location was perfect for where i needed to be, the staff were very helpful, courteous and polite, the room was comfortable and big enough for me, if you like the countryside the hotel is for you and the food they serve is recommended, its was lovely and plentiful, really enjoyed my stay
Pleasant stay. Great location for our requirements. Well appointed room. Good staff. Limited evening menu. Decent cooked breakfast, but again, limited with fruit etc, on offer.
Used as a base before an early morning race. Very comfortable food was nice menu a bit limited but very tasty. Service was excellent thank you

Great character building. Food was aamazing
The room is basic, small but had character. Rooms could do with updating. Restaurant/pub was lovely with the wood beam ceiling. Food was out of this world the take on the traditional meal with a twist was great. Ive never tried food that good before.
We were well looked after, staff friendly room lovely wonderful power shower and big, breakfast amazing local ingredients the home made marmalade was to die for and we brought some to take home. evening meal was delicious and so well presented we enjoyed our stay and we will return the the new year thank you to everyone for looking after us so well.
Lovely stay in a clean, comfortable room in the building adjacent to the pub. We had a good breakfast on both days, even the dog received her own sausage! Dogs are made welcome taking our meals in a nice, bright dining area adjacent to the main dining room.
The Crown is in a peaceful spot even though it is close to main routes. The lower car park is free from artificial light and we managed to get some lovely photos of the Milky Way, an unexpected bonus!

Clean and comfortable room
Clean and comfortable room, evening meal was good along with good local cask beer. A bit of a job finding the pub as the sign was overgrown with Ivy, everywhere outside seem to require a good clean up, hedges trimmed and generally tidied up. The pub itself could do with a bit of TLC. I am aware that pubs are strugling in the present climate. Enough said and good luck.
It was a lovely cottage, clean and suitable for all our needs.
We could hear the residents of the upstairs room going up and down the stairs though. We also heard conversations outside on the road as the windows were single payne
Perhaps install double glazing. The heater in the room.was very good and the room was a good size.
Hotel was lovely with all the low beams you could want, However at least three rooms had no hot water and only a trickle of cold water.
There were 7 guests staying that night and three of the rooms (5 guests) shared the lack of water.
Staff were asked and they sympathised but did nothing.
I emailed the hotel but over the last week no response.
Very disappointing
Bar staff were friendly, food was great
Really nice pub, convenient for Ludlow and the Shropshire Hills. Winter weekend break for us, nice big clean quiet room, comfy bed, plenty of space and large bathroom. All the staff very friendly and efficient, had a nice meal there - steak well cooked - and the breakfast was tasty, good quality ingredients and served quickly and with a smile. The bar area was nice, log fire burning and lots of locals in there. One negative was the water temp in the shower - I imagine as it’s an old building it’s not set up for the demand put on it at busy times. The shower fluctuated between cold and actual scalding hot where I almost had to jump out of the bath to avoid scalding so just be aware It only happened on the second morning when we were most likely showering at the same time as everyone else in the place. Overall we had a nice relaxing experience here and would come back if in the area.
Lack of evening meal choice on menu. Menu on web has more choices compared to actual at hotel. Expensive food and not worth money. Fish came in extra thick batter resulting in fish not being fully cooked. We left most of the fish. Breakfast service by waiter was excellent and food was fresh local produce and tasted very good..BB
Staff excellent, venue excellent, ample parking, room excellent (mind ya head 😃), breakfast very good. Only problem was the central heating radiators were terrible. Coldest couple of days of the year so far so it was needed. Room and landing radiators ony red hot on the bottom couple of inches, maybe an air lock? An electric heater was provided, it didnt work either. Staff supplied another electric heater which saw us through. Apart from that, would definitely recommended and would go back.
