Aloha and welcome to Menehune Shores condo 520!

Enjoy the ocean breezes in our fifth-floor, ocean-front unit. Whether you are here for just a few days or a month, you’ll find everything you need: smart television, Wi-Fi, a fully stocked kitchen, and a private lanai where you can watch both sunrise and sunset. You’ll also have easy access to the rooftop deck—an ideal place to barbecue, take in 360-degree views of the island, and watch for the famous “green flash” at sunset.

Menehune Shores is a small, beautifully maintained complex with manicured grounds, a heated swimming pool, and direct beach access—just steps from the elevator. You’ll have the luxury of being right on the ocean while still only minutes from Kihei’s dining and shopping. Menehune Shores is hotel-zoned, meaning it is exempt from Maui’s pending 2030 short-term rental phase-out and will continue to allow legal vacation stays.

Our 2-bedroom, 2-bath condo includes a full kitchen, in-unit washer/dryer, and ocean views from the kitchen, living room, and makai (oceanside) bedroom. You’ll find all the usual conveniences—television, cable, and internet—plus parking for one vehicle.

While we do not have artificial air conditioning, refreshing trade winds flow naturally through the condo, keeping it comfortable. The only approved condenser would occupy the lanai and release heat that makes it unusable, so we’ve chosen to preserve this space for dining, relaxing, and enjoying the view.

Kihei is an excellent base for exploring Maui’s many attractions: the heights of Haleakalā (“House of the Sun”), Kula’s gardens and high country, world-class snorkeling, surfing, and windsurfing, historic Wailuku and ʻĪao Needle, and the breathtaking Hana Highway with its 57 bridges through lush rainforest. Or simply stay close to home, relax poolside, and enjoy the ocean just outside your door.

Overall Amazing

Perfect place under 10 minutes away from Kihei. Spotted turtles on the beach everyday from the balcony , we went end of April and I guess the water in Kihei is kind of cloudy this time of the year still great ! If we wanted the typical post card beach we just drove to kanapali or napili. Great central location and very close to the airport which was convenient. Even with no AC we still loved the stay. They have very nice fans !

Very nice place to stay in Kihei

We stayed here for one week and had everything we needed. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, containers, and cookware. We also enjoyed the view of the beach.

Fall asleep to ocean waves

We had a great stay. Everything was as described in the unit. Great view of the ocean from the patio and very convenient location. Perfect place to watch sunsets and turtles right on the beach in front of the condo. We hope to stay again!

We stayed in your beautiful condo at the end of June/beginning of July. It was exactly like it is pictured and the view from the lanai was fantastic. The condo had everything in it that we needed, complete with a rolling cooler we could take to the beach! We would definitely stay in this unit again!

Very comfortable and view was great

The condo was clean and the beds were comfy. The view was wonderful. They had beach chairs for us to use. I went to the rooftop patio and it was really neat. It was to windy to stay up there though, just one of those pesky mother nature things. I would recommend this condo.

Wonderful relaxing vacation!

Wonderful relaxing vacation! Views from the condo balcony are amazing. Don’t miss evening sunsets from the roof, balcony or beach. Opening the front door and balcony door provided excellent air flow; we were never too hot. Even if we had air conditioning we would not have used it. The condo is well stocked with anything you would need to be comfortable for cooking, relaxing or outings. Very good location. Easy drive to airport, beaches, shopping, restaurants, etc. The pool was nice and never crowded. Easy beach access. Keep your eyes open for sea turtles! The host provided detailed helpful information before arrival and inside the condo.

Condo with a view

Clean well equipped condo in a perfect central location! Owners provided everything we needed this week-beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, full kitchen, and games. View from Lanai was beautiful. Turtles right on the beach in front of condos. Perfect jumping off point for our travels around the island. We even got a phone call checking in ahead of tropical storm Hone arriving. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Beautiful

This condo was perfect. Everything we needed was there, including a cooler and beach towels, as well as a fully stocked kitchen. We used the grills by the pool one night for dinner and ate while watching the sunset. This is a very nice condo in an amazing location! Thank you for a wonderful time!

Wonderful!

This property was clean, and had every amenity as described (plus a few extras!). The view is spectacular, and positioning of the lanai allows you to sit out without full sun or direct tradewinds- so lovely! The beach is right out the back door. The property is 5 mins from shopping in South Kehei and 10mins from many major beaches. We enjoyed our 2 weeks here and would highly recommend it to others.

Timeless Appeal

It's hard to express how quickly this condo became our very comfortable home away from home on our week in Maui. Despite summer temperatures in the high 80s, its east-facing outlook and the help of afternoon trade winds kept us cool. The lanai is the perfect place to greet the morning, the kitchen is very well equipped for meal prep, and having two baths helped us get along well. We had space to gather and space to retreat. Menehune Shore is a beautiful and well-run complex and stayed remarkably quiet if you don't count the myna birds. Low-key and pleasant place to stay! We would return in a heart-beat.

This was our 2nd time at Menehune - 1st time in unit #520 and would book again! Stayed end of Jan '18. Clean condo and loved that Marianne provided a very useful library of travel books for Maui. Great view from lanai, whales every morning! Well stocked unit, everything you need for the beach too! We love being right on the ocean and LOVE the roof top bbq area, so many friendly people (visitors and long term residents alike!) The short distance from the busier part of Kihei is well worth the quietness and ocean front access. Leisurely 30 min walk to bake shop at Sugar beach in the morning for malasadas! Thank you for a great rental!

My stay in Maui

First time renting through VRBO. This unit was as advertised. The view was awesome and just as we could have hoped for. The best part was the "Extras". Beach chairs, boogie boards, beach umbrellas, beach towels, etc; We had an issue with the TV and Marianne was reachable and resolved the issue quickly. I would recommend this property to anyone. We knew ahead of time the unit had no AC so we have nothing to complain about. Thanks for the great stay!

Quiet Place to stay

Pros - This was the best property manager I have every dealt with. You could contact her with any questions. The view from the balcony is beautiful to sit and eat. The power had gone out from a storm and thank goodness there was a charged lantern and flashlights for us to use. The kitchen was fully stocked to be able to cook meals and this place was centrally located, so it made it easy to travel to all the places to see on the island. This place had everything you need to go hang out at the beach. Cons – No TVs in the bedrooms and no AC unit so the rooms got stuffy.

Perfect location

Absolutely loved this property and unit! Was in a quieter side of Kihei which I also loved. We rented a car and drove to different restaurants and beaches but wouldn’t have wanted to stay down in the busy areas so this was perfect! Fell asleep to the ocean every night and watched the sunrise from the lanai every morning! Unit was equipped with everything you could need and plenty of everything! Owner was super nice and very responsive to any questions I had before coming. I had no problems while we were there. I would for sure stay here again. It was super hard to leave. Also no ac wasn’t a problem for us at all. Doors and windows open and the ocean breeze was perfect and it was in the high 90s pushing 100 every day we were there. Pool was nice and quiet and view from the roof was beautiful! Thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful home! I miss it already!

Good value property

I would stay here again! There are a lot of great things about this property including the spacious nature of it. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, large living/dining area and balcony. There protected swimming area out front is perfect for children and just North is a very nice beach with calmer waters - though we didn't spend time here I can't say for sure if it's rocky or not. There are turtles out front, a nice swimming pool and an excellent Indian restaurant right on property. The manicured grounds and clean common areas are perfect. The unit is clean though it is dated in the kitchen and bathrooms with time starting to show in the usual spots. It's a tropical location so you have to be okay with the odd unsavoury bug in the kitchen, though don't let this sway you. A few items could use some updating though I suspect once the owners have a chance to check things through they'll be updated (e.g. beach chairs have seen better days). The location is ok, though you'd definitely need a vehicle. Walking during the day would be okay, but there is a lack of sidewalks so walking in the evening is a bit sketchy, and most things are a few miles away. There's ample parking (included) so this isn't an issue - unless you don't drive. All in all, this is a great family unit with everything and more than you could need, or you can rent things like snorkels and boogie boards from Boss Frogs for very reasonable weekly rates. If you're considering the Menehuna Shores, book it. You'll be happy.
