About this property
Comfortable, Classy Farmstay Studio, walk to secluded world-class Kahili Beach
Book a stay on an operating Sugarloaf White Pineapple and Tropical Fruit Farm.
Stay in a luxurious accommodation within walking distance to a lovely world-class Kahili (Rock Quarry) beach, a white sand beach with lots of exploration possibilities.
It is a 15 minute scenic stroll or quick 5 minute drive to the beach.
As a longtime farm family we welcome you to come enjoy our place. You may walk around the property as long as you follow 3 rules: 1) Do NOT stand below coconut trees 2) Do not approach any buildings other than your cottage, and 3) do not engage our workers in conversation. They love to chat, but we need them to work :)
As a long-time, nearly 40 year resident farmer, I offer private farm tours to parties of up to 4 in size, for $100 per hour. I can provide a brief overview in one hour, but a more in-depth tour can last for 1.5 to 2 hours.
Experience farm life and be surrounded by magnificent trees and foliage.
Do you like golden retrievers and farm cats? They love it here on the farm, and so will you :)
You may spectate, or join in on, a weekly slow pitch softball game we host. The field is located at some distance from the studio.
Here on the farm, we respect 10PM to 8AM quiet hours, and expect guests to do the same.
The large studio features a Big Screen TV with cable and lots of movie and TV programs streaming, as well as fast WI-FI.
Parking is easy and right outside the accommodation.
There is a great outside lanai with a table chairs, a small gas barbeque and garden views. We provide beach chairs, a beach umbrella, beach towels, and even a couple of boogie boards, which you may use at your own risk. Please be safe!

Because many guests have found difficulty arranging a rental car (the BEST way to explore Kauai) at reasonable rates, we have a Ford Escape SUV which is often available as rentals to our guests. If this possibility sounds of interest please inquire after you make your booking.

We loved our stay at the Pineapple Farmstay! The property is beautiful and very close to Rock Quarry BeachThe space is much bigger than we thought and had everything we needed.
Bruce made our entire visit to Kauai convenient and easy. We decided upon his farm because he offered airport transport and a rental car, but I was still had second thoughts as the farm isn't on the waterfront. But after arriving at his beautiful studio, complete with very tasteful devour and comfortable beds, and walking 15 minutes to his gorgeous local beach, we knew we were so lucky to have secured this rental. Bruce made everything easy for us, and his studio is more comfortable than my own home. Now I can't imagine a better place to stay in Kauai.
This was a very nice unit on a great small farm near the lighthouse on the north of Kauai. The unit is nicer than in the pictures for sure and had a great bathroom!! We had so much fun. Thanks so much for taking such good care of us.
We could not have had a better time. Beautiful space, pettable dogs, and surrounded by both garden flora and wildlife. Definitely recommend asking about the farm car and Bruce and Cyndi were absolute champs with our dicey flight in and help when we got stuck in a parking lot. In case you are not familiar with Kauai, there are chickens absolutely everywhere at all times so my normal hesitation about staying on a working farm due to roosters was entirely irrelevant as you will hear them whether on the beach or miles into the mountains. Great location to explore both the north shore and the east side. We would come back anytime for softball Fridays and one of the comfiest beds I’ve ever had in a rental space. Maybe when the pineapple is in season :).
What a great experience! We enjoyed everything about our space and our stay. As others have mentioned, the farmstay is larger than it appears on the site, well furnished and very comfortable for two people. It's also very well equipped with kitchen and bath essentials, which was great given that we were staying a full week. It's an absolutely gorgeous location as well, and super convenient to the north shore as well as Kapa'a - no shortage of places to eat and enjoy. The one thing I wish I'd known beforehand - and probably should have expected to some extent - was how in-the-middle-of-everything we would be. It was great being able to stay on a working farm, but we were not anticipating the level of activity, often starting early in the day, right outside our windows (not only farm work but children on the property) - just required a bit of adapting. Otherwise it was incredibly peaceful and relaxing, and we look forward to visiting again!
The studio was larger than we thought, clean and comfortable. Great location so we walked to the beach every morning. Very easy to get anywhere on the North shore …our favorite place to stay on Kauai. Having beach chairs and towels was perfect. Kitchen allowed us to make breakfast and a couple of dinners…great.
The vaulted ceilings give this apartment a spacious, airy feel. The space was professionally cleaned and the decor was calming and tasteful. Overall a lovely and peaceful place to be with everything we could possibly need as a base to explore the northern part of the Island.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great location and accommodating hosts. We both enjoyed having a car to get around the island. Waimea Canyon was especially fun.
An inviting, comfortable, and very spacious place to totally unwind and enjoy the best of Kauai. We did cook for ourselves and found the kitchen easy to use and well-stocked with pots, pans, etc. We loved the friendly dogs and the adorable outdoor kitty that came to visit us. Overall, just feel very fortunate to have landed here!
Such a beautiful property and accommodations! The pictures don’t do this place justice! They even had towels, chairs, and all the kitchen amenities. Bruce and Cyndee were gracious hosts and the golden retrievers on the property made our stay feel like home. We will definitely be back.
Large space with many interesting Hawaiin and foreign touches. Hosts very pleasant and helpful. Great location close to a beach and botanical garden. Back porch eating area. Dual head shower a plus.
Farm areas with fruiting trees and pineapple beds add to the comfort feeling.
Friendly golden retrievers fun to play with.
Only concern was that some may feel tight in bed because can only access from one side.
My now husband and I spent our honeymoon at the pineapple farm. It was so welcoming and cozy. We loved driving the rental car to Kilauea for coffee and breakfast at Java Kai. Kapaa was only a 15-20 minute drive, and we enjoyed the shops there on one of our vacation days. We both love animals and smiled every time the golden retrievers welcomed us back from a day of exploring. Highly recommend this accommodation if you want a more homey, down to earth experience, as opposed to staying at a resort or hotel. Thanks again, Bruce! 🍍
Our first days in Kauai were spent at Twin Palms cottage on this property and our last 7 days in this lovely apartment. Twin Palms is secluded and quiet whereas the apartment puts you closer to the buzzing hub of this working farm, friends and family…privacy is respected and valued as an ethos on this farm. We had everything we needed to enjoy staying in and at the same time close enough to grocery and food options to pop out on a whim without a lot of planning required. Same for beaches and island activities!
Turning off the main highway to a long quiet road with turnouts to the pineapple farm and a great beach on one side a botanic garden opposite, all walkable and add to the magic, majesty and beauty of this place!
Bruce, Cyndee and their extended family were welcoming and exceptional hosts.
We loved it!
To call this delightful haven a “studio” has got to be the understatement of the year. So much space, a fully equipped kitchen, large bathroom with double-ended shower heads, a back porch seating/bbq area, furniture and decor that reflects the international mix of Hawai’i’s residents.Use of the farm’s rental car was a very convenient plus, the Friday evening Farmball game was a joy to watch (my softball-playing hubby joined in and and had a blast. Had no idea a 16” circumfetence softball even existed!) and everyone offered a cheery “Aloha” to the transient newbies.Communication with Bruce and Cyndee (both are farmers AND artists) was a breeze and as with any rental, any little quirks (such as how do you start the bbq, what do we need to know about the car, etc) were quickly answered, or already addressed in the how-to/welcome notebook.I got to meet and have a fun chat with their two grandsons (who, the day before we left, welcomed a new baby sister to the family!!)Being on a “working farm” was no noisier than being at home in our neighborhood. (Except we don’t have a rooster at home, lol). Their retrievers happily greeting the car when we returned from our day out were rewarded with many scritches. Would absolutely come back and stay here. You should too.
