The lych gate, St James's Church, Kilkhampton These covered gateways were built as a sheltered place in which to rest a coffin until the time came to take it into the church. There is a stone in the centre of the gateway on which the coffin was, and I suppose still is, placed.

Have stayed here a few times as it suits us in a quiet location with lots of birdsong. It’s also a great base to visit lots including a few waterfalls and many beautiful beaches. Hosts are great and easy to get hold of if needed. We will return
