Kilkea Castle

"This was the most wonderful experience staying at Kilkea Castle. The property is steeped in history and was incredibly interesting to read about. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the food was delicious, with some tasty variations on traditional Irish breads with soups. Breakfast was ordered from a menu rather than buffet style. We had a memorable experience and loved every minute!"

"Room didn’t have an air condition and there were some loud events going on until late and it’s pretty far out of Carlow but it was a good place."

"Avalon house is a Hidden gem. There's so much to do in the area with the adventure Park in the beautiful walking trails in the forest. The breakfast which was included was amazing. I just thought it was a great place to stay. We even went zip lining nearby and it was very affordable. It was just a treat to stay at the Avalon house. Everything was just right."

The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. The location was also convenient and the overall experience was very good. "Tucked behind the Pub with a few other rooms. No noise from the pub though. We had lots of fun and met some very nice locals in the pub. Grocery right across the street was great for breakfast and snacks."
