"Stayed for a few days and were treated to some gorgeous weather, the location is stunning and not too far from Glasgow. The owners were very respectful with space and communication was great and done so through texting, would highly recommend."

"A haven of peace and tranquillity. The house is very spacious, welcoming lounge with amazing loch views. Full of interesting objects and books.The gardens are beautiful with mixture of wild bluebells but also lawns and a magnificent monkey puzzle tree. The breakfast was tasty and good choice. Thank you and would love to return when in the area again. "

"Property advert didn’t make it clear that the property had was setup for less abled people so was a bit of a surprise on arrival. Found used bottle of deodorant and a teeth retainer and lots of floor tiles are cracked which also didn’t help the first impression. Property needs a make over as a bit tired. Highlight was the fabulous view from the patio terrace, but again this needs some tlc as paintwork all flaky. "

"The chalet is extremely comfortable. Could sit on the comfy sofa's in the conservatory all day just admiring the view of the loch and the comings and goings of the boats.Was better than anticipated.Also enjoyed exploring the surrounding area especially the Crinan canal. "

"Serene. Castle, rooms, and surrounding grounds were beautiful. We slept with window open since it was warmer than normal for May, and it was quiet and peaceful. Staff in restaurant were attentive and helped me navigate my gluten and dairy restrictions. Walking paths around property were great. Will definetly stay again if in the area. "

"Tarbert is such a sweet little town. The castle ruins were magical. The hotel itself - very convenient, easy parking, incredibly nice and very hardworking staff. The meals were SUPERB! The room was in good condition. The bed was a bit on the soft and saggy side. Great view though over the water. Hallways are clearly under ongoing repairs. The dinner dining area is quite nice. Breakfast area could use a refresh (especially that first booth seat). Overall, the Anchor Hotel was a great 2 night stop off for us. Thus has been a magical trip overall and the Anchor Hotel was a delightful find along the way!"

"Fantastic 2 night stay at Portavadie. Facilities are wonderful only bettered by the spectacular scenery. Staff are excellent and do what they can to make your stay a memorable one. Would definitely return."
