The Hydro Hotel

The Hydro Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"The Hydro Hotel was a perfect location for the Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival. The Saturday night club/disco catered to the younger crowd and they carried on until the wee hours. The restaurant at the hotel did not disappoint. The breakfast was amazing. The dinner menu had something for everyone including gluten free options. It was fantastic. I would definitely stay here again."

Cosy 2 Bedroom Chalet near Spiddal Galway 8 min.walk to beautiful beaches

10/10 Excellent
"This property is delightful. Michael and Majella are wonderful hosts, located directly next door (the apartment is connected to their home) and were readily available to answer our questions, swiftly. We enjoyed the very comfortable bed, hot showers and use of the kitchen space to make many of our meals. The living room was a cozy space that offered places to relax after our long, day trips. The town of Spiddal is a perfect base camp location to explore Co. Galway, especially Connemara, Clifden and Westport, ferry to Aran Islands, and 30 min drive to Galway City. There are plenty of restaurants, pubs and markets within a short driving distance. A cherished highlight was the walk to the beach, with a magnificent view of the ocean, and Aran Islands, Burren and Galway City in the distance. There was a very friendly donkey who greeted us during the walk. We were also so grateful for the special touch of treats and fresh ground coffee, provided by the hosts. Thank you, Michael and Majella! We can't wait to come back. :)"

The Ritz House

The Ritz House

8/10 Good
"* Rooms above pub and restaurant. We arrived unbeknownst to us on the first day of the matchmaking festival. Musician in the pub until 9 pm. Dancing and music in restaurant back room until around 10:30 p.m. Some noise with both in our room, but not as bad as I feared. * Rooms and facilities were clean. * Staff were friendly and helpful. * Food at restaurant was quite good. Breakfast included in room rate, included continental and hot breakfast. It was quite good. * Hotel right in town. Convenient. On street parking and some spaces in front of hotel. * Photo on Expedia listing looks different than the facility. So for directions put in the pub/restaurant. * Make sure you read the sign behind check in desk with an old family business newspaper listing."
