"I stayed in a room rather than one of the lodges, and the room was lovely, very comfortable, and spotlessly clean. It's worth noting its on the very edge of the town, around a 15-minute walk from the centre of Ballater. My only disappointment was that the rooms are not serviced daily unless you are staying for a longer period, which wasn't explained at check-in. It was a little frustrating to return after a long day out to find the room hadn't been serviced, as that's one of the things I most enjoy about staying in a hotel. However, once I queried this, the staff explained the policy and provided fresh towels when I asked. It certainly didn't ruin my stay. Overall, this is a lovely hotel with comfortable accommodation, friendly service, and I would happily stay here again."

"A beautiful property. You can see they've really maintained the elegance of the house. There were just a few small things like the ceiling was a bit cracked, the faucet cap was missing, and the toilet needed to be pumped in order to flush. But the staff were great and the food was very good so all in all, I would recommend it as a place to stay."

"This is an olde worlds building lots of little rooms also larger function suite all connected with old fashioned corridors connecting them. But there bedrooms are not small and hey are very spacious en-suite rooms. Beautifully decorated with the period they represent. The staff are very peasant, helpful and friendly. Good food. Excellent venue for a wedding as beautiful setting inside and outside extensive countryside woodland walk to the river."

"We loved Balmoral Arms. It was beautiful and very quaint and lovely as were the staff! We especially had a fun time in the cozy pub with an excellent dinner there also. The staff were great! We enjoyed our meal in the lovely dining room for dinner and breakfasts. Great location for seeing Balmoral Castle. Parking was very convenient!"
