For those who prefer to stay on dry land, there are excellent cycling and walking trails, as well as archery and Glice skating, a dry ski slope offers skiing, snowboarding & tubing.

The onsite Boathouse Restaurant is open for meals, drinks and snacks all day & has a shop too. The surrounding Cairngorms National Park is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. A short drive away, Aviemore offers shops, restaurants, and access to the Cairngorm Mountain Funicular Railway, which provides breathtaking views from the top.

In winter, the area is a popular destination for skiing and snowboarding. For a family-friendly day out, visit the Highland Wildlife Park, home to native Scottish species as well as polar bears and snow leopards. History lovers can explore the ruins of Ruthven Barracks or the grand Blair Castle.
