Positioned next to the river, this is the perfect property for those who enjoy fishing.. "Acres of peaceful and secluded countryside surround these magnificent cottages..."

At the heart of Glenprosen, one of the renowned ‘Glens of Angus’, lies the Balnaboth Estate on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park; 6,000 peaceful and secluded acres surrounding 16th-century Balnaboth House. In its midst, these six characterful holiday cottages each offer a unique and magical holiday retreat; indeed the creator of Peter Pan himself (Sir James Barrie) was born in nearby Kirriemuir and holidayed here.

These cottages were once occupied by shepherds, gardeners or other staff of the Ogilvy family when this was a traditional Victorian sporting estate. Red squirrels play in the trees, otters frequent the burns, and deer graze all around. Because of the varied scenery, that varies from beech woods to forest, pasture to heather moor, mountain streams to river pools, the area enjoys a spectacular range of wildlife, including species largely extinct elsewhere in Britain, such as black game and ptarmigan.
Magnificent walking, bird-watching, mountain biking and (in season) cross-country skiing abound on the estate and, further afield, downhill skiing at Glen Shee (25 miles). Fishing is available on a 5-mile stretch of the River Prosen, and there are twenty golf courses within an hours’ drive.
Enjoy the seclusion of this beautiful glen - peaceful, relaxing, scenic - yet just a few minutes’ drive from bustling market towns and busy fishing harbours which hug the Angus coastline, as well as from the city of Dundee which offers many attractions for all the family. The exciting Dundee Contemporary Arts is a stunningly-designed centre which incorporates galleries, a print studio and two art-cinema screens, while the Mills Observatory is Britain’s only full-time public observatory with a resident astronomer.
Good road, rail and air access to Angus provide easy access from all parts of the UK or international destinations. Shop 9-10 miles.. 1 step to entrance.

The Old Laundry is situated in a lovely area and we enjoyed exploring the Angus Glens by bike.

The Old Laundry is situated in a lovely area and we enjoyed exploring the Angus Glens by bike. We enjoyed the cosy stove in the evenings and having no TV or Internet is a bonus. The Old Laundry had everything we needed and we took all our supplies so we didn't need venture back to town for shopping. A lovely place for those looking for quiet and beautiful surroundings.

Lifesaver, beautiful setting, all sorts of wildlife around and the river next to the cottage is lovely. Some of the decor and fittings are a bit tired but reflected in the price, definitely going back. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Amazing for it' s location, scenery out of this world, the tranquil life. It is just right for getting away from a busy town life. Improvement required on cleanliness especially during this Covid 19 pandemic. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

2 adults and a dog over Christmas

We spent a week over Christmas, lovely location and scenery. Luckily we took our own towels as not provided you also have to pay for electricity you used at the end of the stay. We’re going back in the summer.

Great place.

Great place. The heating and meter reading is a bit complicated for holiday mindedness but overall a great place. The big winner is the estate and immediate surroundings.

Thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Old Laundry.

Thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Old Laundry. If it is peace and quiet you are for then look no further. Lots of lovely walks. The cottage itself was rustic and on the whole quite comfortable but basic. No TV signal but there was a large flat screen TV linked to dvd and video tape player. Would suggest taking some dvds/videos of your own although there were plenty there albeit they were a bit dated. As you are next to a burn the midges were out at night so pack some repellent! This was a totally recharge the battery holiday for us and we both left feeling great....
