"Nice vacation getaway with good sized very clean suite, awesome swimming pool, and very friendly staff. It is a mile or so away from the beach, so a short drive. Recently acquired by Hilton, so poolside bar not yet open, but progress and improvements can be seen."

"I was skeptical when I read the Sanderling was ditching the coast guard orange umbrellas and cushions that were symbolic of the resort; however, I was pleasantly surprised how easy on the eyes the new colors are. It was a good decision. The new carpets, paint, color coordinations, they are all home runs. The Sanderling is the crown jewel of the Outerbanks. I have just one minor suggestion: Get rid of the two stroke engine powered blowers used to push sand back onto paths. Electric blowers are powerful enough these days and far less jarring. "

"Saltaire Cottages was a great place to stay for a few days. It was cleaned and had what we needed for those few days. When you drive up it seems to be a little outdated. The inside of our cottage had been redone and it was fine. The location is great, right across the street with their own beach access. The beaches were not so crowded on any day that you felt like you were right on top of each other."

"Best hotel stay in a long time from friendliness to cleanliness to quality!!! We just went for a special overnight with our family at the beach and it was perfect! We played in the indoor pool, ate breakfast with them, slept beautifully and enjoyed the wonderful ocean views as well as the pier!"

"The location is a short walk from the beach which we loved and beach chairs, towels, & umbrella were provided. It is also close to all our favorite eating spots. We ate 1 meal out/day and had the other 2 meals in. Diane has done a wonderful job of making this compact space cozy and doable for this routine. Check-in and check-out were super easy. Diane is a lovely hostess with great communication from beginning to end of stay."
