One of the eye-catchers on the air show was the Ukrainian Sukhoi Su-27.
The Su-27 (NATO code name ‘Flanker’) is an amazingly agile interceptor that is among the best of the world in dogfighting, despite its impressive size. It was developed during the 1980s in what was then the Soviet-Union in response to American fighters like the F-15, F-16 and F-18. The SU-27 is the pride of the Ukrainian air force, a country that is part of the ‘Partnership for Peace’ with NATO and is as such also a partner to the Belgian air force.

"Had a wonderful stay in this newly renovated loft. Right in the middle of Eindhoven so walking distance to the attractions and restaurants in the area. 15 minute walk to the train station so easy to get to and from the airport and neighbouring cities. Check in was easy. You get a PIN code for the doors. Two floors up above the Bakkertje Bol. Steps are modernized. Wider than some of the other older buildings but still steep. "The apartment does not correspond in numerous essential points to the equipment stated in the description: The studio (?) has only around 30 to 40m2 (60m2 are stated), there is no kitchen, no working TV, no tumble dryer, the washing machine may only be operated by the landlady. "This may have been a nice place once, but it's just too old now. Everything is broken or poorly fixed, so I suppose it's no easy to keep clean. Also, there are not enough supplies. Not even enough cups or spoons for 6 guests. The doors don't close or open, the shower is a mess, the stairs to the second floor are dangerous. There is also no information whatsoever. "Room was excellent, only very slight issue was a sticky mark on one of the bedside tables, but that was minor in the grand scheme of things. Decent size room, heating was required as outside temp was cold and it worked well. Shower and bathroom excellent, and the bed is the comfiest bed I’ve ever slept on - wish I could get one shipped back to the UK! Bar area is warm and welcoming and the staff were all excellent, gladly speaking English as I couldn’t speak Dutch unfortunately. Aisha on check-in was fantastic and gave me all the info I needed. Location is excellent, centre of Eindhoven a ten min drive away, and PSV campus the same which is what I went for (football game). 100% would go back again. "

"Absolutely brilliant hotel, best hotel i have stayed in for a while and i travel a lot. Very good value for a relatively cheap price for a stay Very clean and spacious. All the staff are very helpul and friendly and cant do enough for you. Excellent amenties, pool, sauna, gym and even a lounge where you can play pool, air hockey and table football Great location just south of the city center short 5 min walk into town. Parking available and a bit pricey but seems the same everywhere locally."
