Not the Soneva of the Maldives

We had previously stayed with Soneva in the Maldives (which WE LOVED) so our expectations were quite high. While Soneva Kiri was great, we don't think we would go back at the current costs of the room. There are far too many other hotels in Thailand that are as beautiful or more so, that cost much less. We didn't feel you get your money's worth. Too bad, as Soneva is a great brand.

We stayed at Soneva Kiri for our honeymoon and could not have been more pleased with our experience. Our villa was beautiful, private, and had the most stunning views of the jungle and the ocean. We were taken care of from the moment of our check-in at the airport until we arrived back in Bangkok and the host helped us into our taxi. The food at Soneva is incredible. Seriously, we didn't have a bad meal. We'd highly recommend the full board meal option, as it saves money and hassle in the long run. It also brought prompter service, from what we could tell. Our guardian, Fon, was such a joy and catered to our every need. Everyone should have a Fon in their life. We greatly appreciated our housekeeping staff, Cat, who made sure our room had all our creature comforts and was always clean. She also helped with our laundry, which was helpful because we were always sweating! There isn't a single bad thing to say about this resort and we can't wait to return.

Worth Visiting

I got the bay view villa which was beautiful. However, for some reason I was given the villa in the middle of families with kids who were extremely noisy and ruined the serenity. Since I have no kids I would have thought more attention would be given for placing me away from noisy families. Dvd collection was extremely outdated and most of them didn’t even work. Butler was overwhelmed with the amount of villas she was in charge with. I suggest you order Thai food and pizzas because everything else we ordered was flavorless. The View restaurant is definitely worth visiting. Chef came personally to our table and made special sea bass for me which was amazing. We missed the sunset but was still beautiful. I loved driving my own cart.

楽園

オフシーズンに行きましたが、ホテル飛行機が取れなくて苦労しました。パタヤから陸路で３時間そこから船もいいのかなと思いました。さすがシックスセンシズのソヌ氏。素晴らしさは行かないと判らないでしょう。ぜひ。

Some kind of magic

Is this one of the most beautiful places in the world? Probably. Is this one of the best hotels in the world? Certainly not. The choice of construction materials makes that the hotel seems to need a serious renovation after only a few years of existence. Villas are incredibly spacious and comfortable, but bathroom and toilet are separated and in many villas in the open air and not air conditioned. Be aware that this is probably the place with the most mosquitos per square meter in the world. There are also numerous stairs between the different rooms and areas in the villas. Service is very friendly but lacks structure and organization. Food is excellent. The beach is beautiful but the staff is lousy. Area is haunted by probably the most ferocious sand flies in the world. Overall, a beautiful place but not the right price quality relation.

I really don't want to say too much about this resort because I really want to keep it hidden. All I can say that it was the best resort I've ever been to and I'd love to return some day again. All inclusive package is strongly recommended.

スタッフのサービスの質については大変、良かったです。出迎えから送迎えまで、 過剰ではなく自然ながらも細かいところまで配慮いただいたからです。 No news No shoes というコンセプトのもと、エコラクジュアリーを提唱しているだけ あってストロー1本を取ってみても全てリサクルされた紙でできていたりするなど徹底 している点に関心が高かったです。 また、地元の食材を使った朝食を食べることができたのとサラダやタイヌードルも 食材を選択すると目の前で作ってくれたりしたのがユニーク性がありよかったです。

何もしない休日を。

とてもリラックスして過ごせました。リゾート全体もお部屋もビーチもスタッフの対応も素晴らしかったです。また是非行きたいと思います。日本人のスタッフがいて、とても心強かったです。いろいろと最高だと感激しましたが、その代わり、お値段もすごいです。 ショッピングをしないで過ごすのが苦手な方にはあまりお勧めできません。リゾート内にショップはありますが、ちょっとしたお土産と少しのアパレルのみです。でも私達家族はビーチやプールでたくさんの時間を贅沢に過ごせて本当に楽しかったです。
