Solo Traveler. First visit. Room MP-4, Feb 7-12
Landmark to find the guesthouse: the Swedish Restaurant. Separate key for a wooden door besides the main entrance for guests who return after 9pm. Lighting: Yellow and dimly lit although all lights are switched on. Two power points behind an old TV. One power point besides the air-conditioning. A wall fan and a table lamp are also available, did not get to peruse them as the power points are fully occupied. The TV keeps contracting and expanding that is both annoying and creepy in a quiet room. The number pad on the in-room safe is not functionable at all. Fluorescent lighting in bathroom. Too gentle water pressure from shower and water is not hot enough. Broken pieces of soap stuck on the drain cover caused flooding in the shower area on the first night. Stained toilet bowl and rack in shower area. Mosquito netting covering the balcony door did not prevent the mosquito from flying in at night. The two complimentary bottles of drinking water are presented in glass bottles - the first I've seen in hotels I've stayed so far during my travels. It is a great step in going green. Private beach for the resort next door looks alright to spend at least half a day here.
