"It’s hard to say what the most important thing is for a hotel stay. Is it 1) the property and room, 2) the food or 3) the staff? "Everything about the accommodation was excellent, especially the staff! Despite the communication struggles, they were very helpful and provided great service during my stay. The free shuttle service to the ski resort was also extremely useful as they would drive you to your desired resort and pick you up at your specified time. "I have truly enjoyed my time at this hotel because it also had personal Onsens and public Onsens on site. I really enjoyed my Ryukan traditional Japanese room with a large amount of great amenities and I want to come to this place every time I come to Japan though I must let you know if you’re staying in Tokyo it takes about almost 3 hours outside of Tokyo, which you can catch the trains to get to. This place is located in the mountains in Japan and it is very well worth it if you’re looking to relax and to be just Lord by the beautiful site that you will see and experience the custom of traditional Japanese people then you would definitely like to stay here because it was amazing."

"Restaurant and housekeeping services were exceptional. Hotel is well maintained and the front desk check in process was quick and friendly. Room peaceful and quiet with great views of mountain side and lake. Recommend 4th floor if possible. 403 was a great room and lots of amenities (e.g., cups, tea pot, robes, phone plugs, etc.). Osen. bath 1st floor was very clean too. Bikes available. Parking for rental cars. Small gift shop and vending machines with food options. Must get breakfast and dinner option. The food and service is excellent. "

"Everything about the property and my stay there was magical and beautiful. It’s very remote and hard to get to but very much worth it. The only drawback is not having much time to explore the town but if you’re looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city there’s not much better. "

Perfect love hotel... with an annoying neighbor.

"The outside of the buildings looked a little old, but inside, it was very clean and very comfortable with an impressive amount of helpful appliances for food and temperature/humidity comfort. The shower and bedroom were particularly nice. I would have given this hotel a perfect 5 star rating, but unfortunately the bedroom window (Room #7) faced a separate residential house that had many very loud and annoying dogs that barked every day from 6am to 12pm without stopping. It was very hard to get sleep because of this. It's not the hotel's fault, but people staying in Room #7 should be aware of this. Also, it is a 15 minute to the nearest bus stop."

"Stayed at Aratashi Minakami for 5 nights and it was incredible. The rooms are large and comfy. Spacious enough for 3 double beds and luggage! Our package came with breakfast and dinner and every meal was gourmet level. The private hot tub on the room balcony is a special touch and great for enjoying the sounds and view of the river below while soaking aching muscles after a day of snowboarding. Well down Aratashi Minakami team! I’ll be back again! "
