This is an old hotel. But it’s very charming. Not 5* but still good. Staff were all lovely. Breakfast buffet is amazing. The gym is good. The pool Is a nice environment but the water was cold. We enjoyed the pool bar a lot with a great view over the river. It’s a well located hotel and the trips all pick up here. Room was large and comfortable. Shower was excellent. We’d definitely stay again.

Dream stay at the Waterfront Hotel

My stay at the Waterfront Hotel was the best hotel experience I have ever had. The length the staff will go to in order to meet your requests is simply amazing. The hotel has it's own app with which you can chat with the staff at all times - yes, even in the middle of the night. They are extremely helpful and courteous. The true stand out of this whole experience. If nothing else you should visit just for this. Luckily, there are also other things to thoroughly enjoy at the Waterfront. There's the big and varied breakfast buffet where cooks will prepare custom omelets and Sarawak laksa for you, every day has a new flavor of freshly made fruit smoothies and a barista carefully prepares your coffee. Then there's the pool area which has it's own bar. And let me tell you: the bartenders know what they're doing. Carefully crafted cocktails made to your exact specifications. You don't even have to ask for customization - they will make sure to ask you for it. If shopping is your thing the hotel has a direct access to the Merdeka shopping center which has lots of stores. I just used it for the ATM though. Rooms are kept very clean and you can pick when you want the room cleaned through a smart, little system located on the wall in the room. There's an option for privacy and one for cleaning. Cleaning was perfect. Also, I had a King River View room and the king size bed was amazing. If you are going to Borneo make sure to stay at the Waterfront Hotel!

Terrible check in experience , huge suite but extremely tired , free standing bathtub which was not fixed to the floor . Dirty carpet , windows not closing very well or with screws. Tired hotel, definitely not 5 or 4 star property. Limited buffet , forget the croissants , impossible to eat …

Stayed in a club room. Very easy checkin via the club lounge. Room was clean and comfortable and quiet. View over the river from the club lounge was beautiful. Cocktail hour 5-7pm had good quality food, including local food options to try, and reasonable quality wines. Direct access to shopping mall and easy walk to Chinatown and restaurants
