I went during a slow time of year, but got a little street noise but not much. Good outlet and mini area for luggage. I had 3 bags (size of airplane carry on) and all fit under bed. In summer, the sleeping area might get a little stuffy as no vent, but if you have a mini fan this shouldnt be an issue. Receptionist...

"This is a nice laid-back place and at a good price on Naoshima Island. It is near Project Art House and the Ando Museum. There are a couple of cute restaurants nearby. The staff is so friendly and accommodating and personally picked us up from the port and helped us find everything we were looking for. Would stay again for sure. "

"We were kicked out to poring rain when we arrived early with two small children. It's not that they didn't have a space for us to wait until the bad weather passes by. They did not have a heart to welcome their guests. The owner frowned at us when we came inside the entrance soaked, and said they had to close the office between 12 and 4. "I really enjoyed my time at Kakure-Yado Yuji-inn - Hostel. The staff is really like a family and they are really inviting. Like my title says, the hostel is very close to Kurashiki - So the Ohara Art Museum, Kurahsiki Ivy Square, etc. I will say that the hostel is actually in a narrow alley. But the area is super safe, so I wouldn't worry too much about it! (This is more so a heads up when you're looking for it for the first time.) But yeah - A great hostel; I would certainly recommend it."
