Quaint Cottage in Downtown Kure Beach – Home of Merv, Star of Upcoming Movie!
This 1950's beach bungalow has been carefully restored to it's original glory. It's so close to the ocean that you can hear, smell and taste it. It's location to the Boardwalk and Beach is only steps away. Relax on the two spacious screened in porches. Enjoy the outdoor shower and spacious 6 ft tall fenced in backyard with firepit. The cozy open floor plan is spacious for cooking and gathering in one large room. What we love about this place is the charm and proximity to the beach, allowing families to create lasting memories. Kure Beach is a unique little beach town, with a Boardwalk featuring famous restaurants, an Arcade, Coffee Shop, Diner, Bar, Farmer's Market, Music Pavilion and more. Fish right off the famous Pier and enjoy the family style beach life. The surrounding towns of Carolina Beach and Ft. Fisher are just a bike ride or golf cart ride away, and they offer an Aquarium, Historical Museum, Cape Fear River, Boardwalk, and so much more!

Couple with small dog enjoyed our stay! You could hear the waves and being off season was very quiet. Enjoyed sitting on front porch people watching. Easy walk to beach and restaurants. Ate an amazing meal at Freddie’s.
Perfect location for a family with kids, short walk to the beach, stores, and restaurants. Plenty of room to park and the outdoor shower is a game changer!!
Lots of space in the backyard for the pup. The screened porches allowed us to be outdoors most of the time without BUGS! Highly recommend.
Beach House was perfect - location, accommodations, you name it! Erin was quick to respond, friendly and hospitable. I would certainly recommend and stay again in the future.
My husband and I had a very nice stay at this cottage this past week. We loved the close proximity to the beach, as well as the fully fenced-in back yard, which worked well for our 2 senior dogs. We also really enjoyed the fire pit, and we used it several times during our stay. The owners were incredibly nice and very prompt to answer any questions that we had during the stay. We would love to stay here again in the future.
The house was neat and clean and the yard was clean . The fig bush was a added bonus!!! The location to beach access is wonderful and the neighborhood is nice and quiet. The house is well stocked and the screened in front porch is wonderful. Fenced in back yard was great for our dog . Will keep it in our favorites
We had an excellent stay at Erin’s home! The location is ideal - just a block from the beach and a short 4 minute walk to the Kure Beach pier. We brought our dogs to the beach and Erin’s place is perfect for traveling with dogs - great outdoor yard, puppy-proofed interior. The home is comfortable and has all the essentials you’ll need for a beach trip. We would love to stay here in the future and highly recommend this home!
I really enjoyed this property but I took my 82 year old mother. The rocks out front and shower really presented problems for her. This is a wonderful place for families but if you have someone confined to a wheelchair it is a challenge. Erin is very helpful and this property has everything a family or just friends needs. Thank you Erin.
We had a good time. The beach was very close to the house. However when we arrived until the time we left there were 1000's of flies due to a fruit tree in the backyard right next to the patio so sitting outback was unpleasant. We did take our dogs with us and when I first got there I checked the perimeter of the fenced in yard to make sure no gaps where dogs could get out and it was perfect and 6ft tall. There were a few piles of dog poop in the yard upon arrival however me being a dog person No big deal. When I checked out the host messaged me within the hour to let me know that she was making a claim due to leaving some dog poop in the back yard and a dog poop smear on the couch cover and it smelling like dog poop and beer in the house. And states she will have to use a diffuser to get the smell out. I may have overlooked a pile or two unintentionally. The couch cover was the kind that is very easy to remove and wash. So I am unsure why that would be a big deal, but again if i would have seen it, I would have cleaned it up. Also, no-one in our group drank any beer in the house at all. We sat at the benches outside for the one night around the firepit and that is where we drank. So again I am unsure how the house would smell like beer. I did leave the remaining of the 12 pk in the fridge. I guess I assumed that the 200 cleaning fee would be to clean and wash the sheets and couch cover. Which mind you I did have one of my sheets over the couch cover. I did pay extra for the protection plan when booking with vrbo. So I am hopeful that a diffuser and the washing of bedding/ couch cover being washed will be covered, as I truly do not think that we caused any damage to the property.
Our anniversary is the end of October so if we choose a beach getaway a pool really isn't up there on the priority list. But a nice yard for our pup and a firepit is exactly what we like to see. The fact that you can see the ocean from the parking area is a huge plus also. We spent the cool nights around the campfire and the 70 degree days walking all around the beach and carolina beach state park (highly recommend). Ate our anniversary dinner at Stoked which was awesome with a nice view! Location was great, backyard great, if it were a little warmer I'd have used the outdoor shower every day!

Our stay
The accommodations were good and it is close to the beach. The neighbors were a bit loud and didn’t seem too cleanly. We had to leave early and did attempt to cancel originally. Request was denied so we paid for a week we didn’t get.
Needed a place for us to stay during the move in weekend for our son at UNCW where we could bring our dog. Excellent back yard fenced in for dogs. Thanks!
This house was only a couple mins away from the beach- awesome location ! Loved that is was dog friendly ! Huge fenced in backyard. Indoor shower was tiny but outdoor shower made up for it. When we arrived the trash cans outside were full and smelly - had to move farther away from the main door . Overall great stay though - loved all the ceiling fans in the rooms.
We really enjoyed our time here. Everything was clean and welcoming the owner was very helpful and personable. I you have pets, this is a great place to stay. It has a fully fenced, large backyard our dog loved. Very short walk to the beach. We will definitely book again.
We really enjoyed our stay here. It had everything we needed for a weekend getaway, and the location was perfect. It was an easy walk to the beach as well as several restaurants and a coffee shop. The house is cozy, and it’s the perfect size for a small friend group. The ceiling fans are particularly cool, and we loved using the outdoor shower.
My husband and 2 young boys enjoyed our stay at this comfy beach cottage. Erin was a text away and we were able to check in early, which was really nice. The big fenced backyard was perfect for the kids and our dog. The grill and firepit was stocked, which was an unexpected perk! Other perks included a beach canopy and wagon (don't bother with umbrellas on windy days!), well-stocked kitchen and basic spices, screened porches, and the proximity to restaurants and the beach. The space is perfect for a group of 4-5 inside due to the small shared space and single bathroom, but it suited us well. The beach is not dog-friendly during summer months, but Freeman Park beach is a short drive and welcomes dogs. We look forward to staying at Erin's cottage again!
cute house, well maintained and equipped. We needed the 3 bedrooms but for 6 adult family members, 1 bathroom was not ideal. Outdoor shower was great upon returning from the beach and helped with the bathroom crowd. Somewhat small eating areas for 6 adults unless the weather was good and then the back yard was great. lovely firepit and area to hang out in the back yard
We really enjoyed out stay! It was nice to get away to a qauint little house. Loved the fenced in backyard and outdoor shower. Wish there was a washing machine and dryer, but we managed just fine! Will look at staying again in the future!
