"Tranquilla is the perfect get away from stressful Istanbul - It's a beautiful and relaxing place, not only near rivers but mountains and the sea. The food and service were amazing too. "

"We were looking forward to a relaxing break away from the city and online the “hotel” seemed perfect for a mini break. However, we were met by uninterested staff who didn’t seem bothered to host guests. The “reception” looks like a bachelor’s living room with cigarettes and snacks scattered everywhere. The room itself was not equipped with what is promised online and we had to ask for coffee and tea provisions. Since they had no coffee in the rooms as promised we asked for a coffee at breakfast; upon checkout they had the audacity to charge for this. It didn’t seem clean and most areas smelt like cigarette smoke, including the room. Also, be warned that this is far off the beaten track and the internet doesn’t work well, so you might find yourself getting lost as well. This place could be lovely if it was run and managed by people who cared about the property and guests. It is interesting that there aren’t many other negative reviews, but then on closer inspection, if you look at many of the reviews in English, they’ve been written by Turkish people, so presumably friends and family of the owners/managers. "

"We had good experience here."

"We arrived to a room that looked like it had been cleaned some time ago, the pillow had a dead bug on it and the floor looked to have dirt on it. We also found a big on one of our towels. The room was small and mattress did not feel good quality. We complained and the staff showed us alternative rooms which also had dirty floors like as if they had not been hoovered. We asked for a room to be cleaned that day. We then got an upgraded room which considering the hotel was not busy it would’ve been nice for them to have done automatically. The staff were helpful when we complained, however it would have been more pleasant if we didn’t have to complain. There’s also a lovely area by the river you can sit but the seat covers had been removed for cleaning hence there was very few pleasant areas to sit. The hotel should have a spare set of covers to apply if they plan to remove all available ones or alternatively clean half so people can still enjoy the seat and clean other half at another time. The breakfast which was included was pleasant and we also got a complementary Turkish coffee on arrival due to our discomfort with the room. The staff also had an issue holding our bags after check out, the were reluctant to take them, which you would imagine as a hotel that could provide this service. "
