"First time at this property. I prefer to stay in non-chain properties while vacationing. This place had a nice "feel" to it. Older motel, but maintained well, It was evident the owners are working hard to make it work, with a positive attitude. It makes you feel comfortable. This one works. I will return."

"We arrived later in the evening and I believe they had waited for us in the office. He was very efficient and kind. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. Parking was difficult though, that’s the only complaint we had."

"This is a good budget friendly motel. The linen and towels were in excellent condition and the room appeared to be recently renovated. The room and amenities were very clean and tidy. The reception staff very friendly and helpful."

"if you have the chance to come here that means you are beyond lucky. this is one of the most magical corners of british columbia. the hotel is eclectic and cozy with friendly faces and staff at each turn. between the art and the draft beer you will find yourself entranced with the music of the symphony at the pub, the creek and frogs at night will ease you into slumber to end the day in bliss. the ymir hotel is not just a place to stay it’s a place to remember."

"We stayed at this lakeside home for a week and absolutely loved it. The view is breathtaking, and the whole place feels peaceful and welcoming. The house was spotless, comfortable, and very cozy.The kitchen is fully equipped with plenty of pots, pans, utensils, cups, and plates — everything you need for cooking. Only basic pantry items like honey, sugar, and flour were not provided, but there is salt and a small selection of spices.The bedrooms are warm and inviting, with clean bedding and very comfortable mattresses. The wooden interior adds a charming cabin feel, and the carpets in the bedrooms make it even cozier. The large covered wraparound veranda (about 4 ft wide) was one of our favorite spots to relax. There’s also a clothesline outside, along with a washer and dryer inside the house. Access to the water is excellent, and the view from the property is truly special. It’s a perfect place to unwind and enjoy nature.The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, which made our stay even better. We would happily return and highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a peaceful lakeside getaway."

"Great location just outside Creston (few minutes to drive in) as a base for visiting the wineries (managed 3),farmers market, art gallery of local artist, lovely meat and owner at Bindoya on Canyon Street and delicious milk and ice cream at Kootenay Meadows farm. Good foody vibe in the area. And then there’s swimming in the lake/river and following the treks at Tyler&Mia’s place. The latter let us loose on their veg garden - there’s also eggs and blueberries! May have to return to do it justice - we only had 3 nights!"

"Beautiful lakeside beach! We loved the stand-up paddle boards, kayak and sitting on the pergola. The outdoor 1950s kitchen was the best!! The location is beautiful and very close to Crawford Bay, where we enjoyed the bakery and Black Salt cafe. These were great suggestions from our host Babs. Babs was fantastic. Would love to come back and stay again!"

"Our family (3 adults, our daughter, and our dog) had an amazing week at this beautiful Kootenay Lake home. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and completely at ease.The house has so much character with its antique charm, and one of our favourite surprises was the incredible book collection. There were so many interesting books to browse that everyone found something to enjoy. Our daughter absolutely loved the piano and treated us to little concerts throughout the week.We spent countless hours on the two balconies playing cards, Jenga, and board games while enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The entire property, inside and out, has such a relaxing atmosphere that it was easy to forget about the hustle and bustle of city life. The quiet country setting was exactly what our family needed.Claudia and Klaus were wonderful hosts—kind, approachable, and genuinely caring. It was clear they take great pride in sharing their home and making sure their guests have a memorable stay.The main beach is just a short walk down the hill, and the views are absolutely breathtaking (especially for us Albertans!). Kootenay Lake is truly a gem. We do recommend bringing water shoes, as the shoreline is rocky.We also discovered a quieter little beach just a minute and a half's drive away, where we spent time admiring and collecting beautiful pebbles in every colour. The floating island was another huge hit with our family and provided hours of fun. Love love love the place! Thank you!"
