"Fantastic basic onsen, great location in the middle of nowhere. Great outdoors peace and quiet and perfect as a base camp to drive all over.

"All in all great value for money, with very helpful staff and very clean rooms and great amenities. I did learn something about Japanese habits, though. The “kakeyu” tub in the otherwise great bath house was out of service and I noticed that most Japanese customers did not bother washing first when they can’t use the “kakeyu”. They stepped int ook the bath without even rinsing, so I hope the hotel will quickly restore the “kakeyu” tub.
Also, I think it would be a good idea if the dinner menu...
"This hotel and town were a highlight of my trip! Nestled in the mountains next to the river this place is like a movie. By day tourists flock but at night its quiet and has a peaceful moonlit romantic feel. I took a rickshaw through bamboo garden (the only way to do it properly) I took a boat ride down the river (easy train to the meeting point), I rented the bike from the hotel and cruised around during the evenings enjoying the river and sounds and chilling quiet surroundings. Family mart...
