We stayed six nights, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was so thoughtfully designed and appointed, it made it spacious and easy even for a long stay. The Gion Elite Terrace is also located ideally - very near everything but no heavy tourist traffic. Lovely!

We stayed only 1 day here from a cruise. It was lovely. Spacious and clean room. Walking distance to everything. This was indeed a diamond in the rough. We were a family of 3. My husband and I and our teen daughter. Beds were comfortable.

The location of the hotel was perfect for our stay in Kyoto this fall. Walking distance to so many temples, gardens, steps from the Geisha district, shopping & restaurants. The pictures I saw on google maps of the street and immediate surroundings looked a little iffy, but it was just fine, and very quiet. The hotel was absolutely spotless and very comfortable; the staff fabulous, and the small restaurant well run with a very decent breakfast at a reasonable price. It is also only a short block from a 7/11 C-store and a tad further to a small Fresco market, which was handy. Don't laugh (like I did initially) 7/11's in Japan are really good at what they do.

Great stay

Great stay. Comfortable beds, clean space, and the kitchenette is a nice touch. Taxi drivers do struggle to find the small street, though, so be prepared to show them a map of the navigation, if you’re not using an app taxi service. Nice Sri Lankan food in the cafe, too.

Amazing property with a super spacious room! The staff were so kind and accommodated our late check-in. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. We loved our bathroom that included a sauna and an oxidized bathtub. Super close to all the main sites and metros, we walked more than anything else. 10/10 would stay here again!

Easily one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in, we didn’t want to leave. Spacious, beautiful appointed, sauna, oxygen spa bath. Spotlessly clean with helpful fabulous staff.
