The room is GrandWest is very clean, spacious and comfortable, with a Japanese modern style. We love it. The property is very close to the Arashiyama train station, 6 mins walk. It is also very close to the shopping downtown place, walkable maybe around 10 minutes walk. Property is at a very convenient location. The customer service is also very good. Excellent overall.

Highly recommended family-friendly room

It was a pleasant stay; cleverly designed room to give a blend of English and Japanese styles with ample of space to roam for family of 4. Although location is further away from the tourist attractions, the hotel’s room was beautiful and very well-kept. Staffs were kind and genuinely welcoming (even hand-written welcome and goodbye cards!). My 2 young sons asked why did we only stay for 1 night when we were checking out.

Beautiful elegant oasis near Arashiyama

It was a fantastic place to stay in! Only feedback we have is that because there were 3 of us, it would have been good for the staff to provide 3 sets of utensils, plates, cups, etc. as opposed to just 2. Other than this detail, the place was spotless, quiet, and spacious, and the service was friendly and discreet.

The facility is wonderful. We would have liked power outlets near the bedding for alarm ⏰️ charging on our mobile devices. The property is clean, nicely articulated & designed, great walking location to area destinations & transportation. The staff are very nice & welcoming.

This was our favorite hotel in 10 days around Japan. The room is spacious, super clean, modern and very comfortable. We loved being able to walk to the wonderful Arashiyama sites when the day tourists left. We had a beautiful view of the mountains and the staff is so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed free access to cold water bottles and coffee/tea and a delicious multi choice western style breakfast. The rooftop deck was enjoyable too. The beds are super comfortable. This is a great option to be close to nature and away from busy Kyoto downtown.

Our stay at the GrandWest Arashiyama was exceptional. The room was spacious and clean, reception was incredibly helpful, and the location was quiet and idyllic. During our stay we made the most of the amenities including free refreshments, a washing/drying machine, and a cute cafe situated just downstairs from the hotel entrance. Our stay here was easily one of the best parts of our trip to Japan and I highly encourage those visiting Arashiyama to consider this hotel!

Very spacious and clean. Modern style with exposed concrete walls. Amenities include free coffee and tea in the lobby and toiletries include hair ties in the room. Breakfast in the cafe downstairs was excellent and included yogurt parfait, egg, waffle, salad, sausage, bacon and a drink. Very friendly staff with personalized note in the room and thank you upon check out. Traditional robes for each person included on each bed including the kids. Only downside - no elevators, also a bit of a walk (15-20 min) to temple and bamboo garden and JR but nice to be a little out of the way from the most touristy street.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The staff were kind and welcoming, and the location was perfect—peaceful, not noisy or crowded. There were many sightseeing spots along the street leading to Arashiyama Station (JR), which made exploring the area very enjoyable. The hot bath was very relaxing, and the bed was super comfortable. I would love to come back again!

We absolutely loved everything about this hotel! The location is perfectly tucked away off the beaten path—peaceful and quiet, yet still convenient. The room was spacious and the beds were incredibly comfortable. To top it off, the breakfast was delicious with plenty of options. Highly recommend!
